Best/most reliable F10 5 series diesel engine?

I had an F11 530d and have just off loaded an F11 535d. Not sure why this would be the case other than my imagination, but I thought the 530 was slightly smoother. That, possible incorrect observation aside, the 535 engine completely makes the car a winner in my opinion. There always feels like there is considerably more torque available - fantastic engine. I have become victim of living in central London and the black devil (diesel) bashers - I have convinced myself that it will not be possible to have a diesel vehicle in the next couple of years without incurring financial penalties. NOx emissions are being massively berated in press and amongst politicians - the same little darlings who encouraged motorists and manufacturers to buy/ develop diesel technology. For me then, the future ain't diesel, otherwise I would not have changed cars today.

Have to agree mate - just picked p one of the last F11 535d's yesterday - has the N series rather than M series engine. Wow! If I thought the E61 had a great engine and mountains of torque this one just develops every level of that and improves it. Town mpg seems massively improved too. Bonus!
