So, a week in and completely head over heels for this car. Now nigh on 350miles covered as I've taken a few diversions to enjoy the ride!

Today I had some time on my hands and decided to give it a quick wash as the country lanes dish out some punishment in winter/spring. Also a good opportunity to get to know the bodywork/paintwork, which I gave to concede is in remarkable condition. I'll look forward to a detailing session when the weather improves but for now:

ValetPro Neutral PH snow foam
2BM with Chemical Guys Citrus & Gloss shampoo
Megs Last Touch quick detailer
ValetPro Bilberry on the alloys & IronX
Megs Endurance Tyre Gel

Rather pleased with the result.

Then it all got too much for Tilly..

Gratuitous pic of the interior! smile

And the sunshade I've fitted for my daughter in the back...

Looking good - and what a bizarre specification! - poverty starting point, but every option imaginable thrown at it.

(Although I have a suspicion you could only have SE or MSport in 2011, so unless you wanted a bodykit and big wheels)

Wow, incredible specification. It even has the leather dash, a £900 option that few people opted for. Wonderful.

Looks nice. Comfort seats seem to be so rare on the f11's, certainly more common on the e61. I've never seen the leather dash before either.

Where did you get the window blinds from? I'll be needing some of those as the whole point of me getting the f11 is to cover the family duties that my z4 coupe apparently isn't suitable for!

Does the f11 use pressure sensors in the wheels or does it use the older system via the wheel speed sensors? Just thinking ahead to purchasing a second set of wheels for winter tyres and if I need to budget for sensors too.

Depends how old/new the F11... I believe the change came around 2014.
Do your existing wheels have rubber or metal valve bodies?

Mine, acquired yesterday, is a September 2014 build and shows tyre temperature as well as pressure, so presumably has the sensors in the wheels.

I got mine through a supplier who advertises on bmw5.

Well I can finally say I've got myself a f11. I've been looking for about a year, initially determined to get a petrol, finally succumbing to a diesel. It'll make an ideal family car I think, pics to follow if it ever stops raining!

Congrats. What did have you gone with (and spec)?

I got a 2013 (pre facelift) 535d sport. I'll have to put the vin in the online checker to get the exact spec at some point, but it's got heated memory seats, pro nav, xenons, sport auto box, 19" wheels and a reversing camera. It's got the headlights that dip themselves, which I think was part of the visibility pack along with the xenons. Not sure if they're the ones that follow the corner or not, haven't driven it at night yet.

First impressions are that it'll be the ideal family car, loads of space, comfy and powerful. It's also remarkably quite inside, both road noise and engine noise. Ride doesn't seem too bad either considering the 19" runflats, not sure if I'll eventually replace them with non runflats or not.
