There’s a inline fuel pump before fuel filter and a brass fuel pump aswell
Which do you mean? Have you ever known the brass pump to ever fail?

Did you ever find the cause of your starting problem?

I have the same issue on my E53 3.0i and £500 later at the garage and it still broke down on my wife last night.
