To answer the thread title, no not a chance.

M3 CSL, M coupe and 1M are the only recent bmws that have future classic potential.

Whilst the z4m is a great car, regular z4s are just an overweight two seater with questionable looks and sporting pretensions - you buy them for the engines and not much else imho.

Most of the time I think these threads are just started by chancers who are hoping that prospective buyers will happen upon them and suddenly think that it's the next Clio v6.
So the Baron's current garage is showing as:-

BMW 3 Series E91 330i Touring M Sport

Renault Clio 200

Racing Car Mini Cooper 1.3i

330i Estate - maybe the same engine as a Z4C but with added lard, or worse still the N53 with injector and HPFP issues added!

Clio 200 - the Clio V6 wannabe?

Mini Cooper 1.3i - racing car? You sure?

And if the Z4M is a great car how can regular Z4s have questionable looks? Or does the Z4M look questionable?

What a nonsense.
My first post to this thread made no mention of your profile.

Anyway back on topic, I'd agree with the posters above that any interesting car kept in very good condition and with low mileage will be appreciating in the future, but 'fast appreciating classic' is a term best reserved for e-types and the like.

Did I say your first post mentioned my profile?

We seemingly have different views, appreciations and desires - but are both into cars (albeit not necessarily the same ones) - but that shouldn't be a problem!

But I agree that any interesting car kept in excellent condition with low mileage and good history won't bomb in value.

As for "fast appreciating classic" - who knows? E-types and the like have already sailed off into the sunset!

It's all about spotting what will take off next if investment return is crucial.

But for me it is about buying what I like. If it goes up in value, great - but if it doesn't so long as I enjoy it I won't lose sleep over it!

I think we would mostly agree that good
Straight cars will at least hold steady on price.
