Has anyone had to go through it before?

I have a less then 12 month old S7 Edge, but am finding the home button is wearing through the layers, to the point where I think I can see the finger print scanning layer below the plastic.

Do you need to wipe the phone before sending it? Do they wipe it before returning it? In terms of the phone's water resistant rating, is this still guaranteed?

I am a very heavy user of it & the phone has been flawless otherwise, just a shame about this....

Samsung Service: 0330 7267864

The people who answer are pleasant but clueless. be prepared for a long call.
Back up and wipe the phone before you send it.

Can you not return the phone to the retailer and let them do the heavy lifting.

Phone was an insurance replacement last year, so no contract to fall back on. The damage isn't worth of an insurance type involvement (via my bank).

Used Samsung's chat - very helpful actually- but they did warn of a 10 day turn around time. Have advised me might be quick to use one of their service centres. Hoping if I ring them, send them pictures of the home button, they might be able to order the part in in advance and see if that reduces the time away from phone.
