E39 525d turbo whistle noise "issue"

Car has excellent service record. Al pipes are 100% (Smoke test done) .Intercooler /oil fine etc etc etc
Now I know these turbos can whistle a bit . This is nothing crazy etc .With the horror stories of rip off turbo rebuilds etc .Would you think a good turbo off a running 'scrap " car would be better than a rebuild and all the issues ?

Nothing wrong with a good recon from the likes of Turbo Technics or Turbo Dynamics.
