BMW 4 SERIES CONVERTIBLE , WATER LEAK!!
Discussion
Had the same problem on my 2015 435d but out of warranty. It's known issue. Fortunately there is a convertible specialist about an hour away and they sorted it for c£450 including a roof service. However, months later the window regulator and motor failed which was another £700. First lesson learned is that these roofs need routine maintenance. Second lesson is that I will ger a soft top if there is a next time. The giveway with these roofs is that the said repairer's car park was full of convertibles in need of repair, from all over the souith of England. Most were hard top types.

4 series convertible 2017-2019 drain issue - causing amplifier damage
I'm in the process of compiling information for a potential legal case regarding a design flaw in the drainage plug of the 4 Series convertible, leading to water accumulation and subsequent damage to amplifiers and window motors. Before proceeding with the case, I'd like to gauge the extent of this issue within the community. I've personally owned two BMW 4 Series vehicles, and both experienced water damage to the amplifiers, necessitating replacements. Has anyone else encountered similar problems with their 4 Series convertibles?
Not amplifier problems but a rear window regulator got drowned and killed due to a blocked drain hole leading to a non-operable roof - initial response from BMW dealer was 'tough luck, drain holes aren't covered by warranty, big bills coming your way' which rapidly changed to parts and labour completely covered by BMW UK as a 'goodwill gesture' when it was pointed out that the car was only ever serviced by them and still had their full warranty.I'm in the process of compiling information for a potential legal case regarding a design flaw in the drainage plug of the 4 Series convertible, leading to water accumulation and subsequent damage to amplifiers and window motors. Drain holes were enlarged by BMW at the same time as the regulator was replaced and my excellent Indy now checks they are clear every time the car is up in the air.
No issues since then - touch wood.
Repaired under “warranty” earlier this month after having had drain holes unblocked and enlarged last year.

I brought my BMW series 4 convertible 5 months ago and 2 months into having car back window went so roof wouldn't work contacted dealer and he said to get it fixed under the warranty that he provided and that's when I found out there was no warranty on my car as he messed up so he provided me with a different warranty all together and told me to wait a month before making a claim while in that time the car filled with water and blew amp, BMW and the dealer refuse to accept liability and I now have a £3000 bill I'm so angry as first time with BMW and spent my savings on buying it, I'm thinking of legal action for both dealer and BMW what do people think please

Had the amplifier blow on my F33 due to water ingress at only 2000 miles from new, blocked drains was the culprit, found the internal BMW document acknowledging the problem and suggesting the fix, fortunately the replacement amp and fix was free as the car was under warranty.I'm in the process of compiling information for a potential legal case regarding a design flaw in the drainage plug of the 4 Series convertible, leading to water accumulation and subsequent damage to amplifiers and window motors. I check the drains regularly to prevent a recurrence.
I have bought a 440 cab 2017 with 14000 miles but did not know about the design flaw resulting in water in the boot. It is incredible that bmw have a quick cure for the problem but still want to charge you for it. In addition because of water in the boot the amp has blown up and the roof is not working. Bmw are again going to charge an extortionate amount to put these problems right. Why has there never been any recalls to cure this before these large faults occur? I have had 3 bmw's, but never again!
