Had a great day out at the Sherborne BMW show, and won a prize in the concours competition (tailpipes should have been cleaner!):

The lines of that generation just look so clean and 'right' by comparison to today's rather more challenging (to be kind) iterations.

Concours prize and we get one measly pic? smile

Well done on the win, you definitely put a lot more effort than most into your cars.

I look forward to reading about it in a future issue of Straight Six. smile

I don't get this - a newish car that's just been kept clean and you go to shows with it?

It’s a 15 year old car. Yes, concours is as simple as that. Keep your car clean and win prizes.

That looks grand.

This era is aging really well to my eyes (other than the 7 which was always ugly).

Resurrected the M5 after a year being left down the side of the house, gave her a quick wash ready for tomorrows 20th MOT test, fingers crossed.

Looks clean, has it had a new bumper?

I love the 313s in silver. If I ever get my E92 back, I think the next change I will make to it is to get the wheels refurbished in the brightest silver going.

Out of interest, what tyre sizes are you running? I have 235/35 and 255/35 on mine. I might change to 265/30 at the rear, although tyre selection is much less and prices are much more!

I’ve had the wheels dark grey and bright silver. I prefer the silver. I think the factory finish looks slighter better-unfortunately it doesn’t last. I even a bought a new old stock 313, it had corroded in the box! I run standard tyre sizes, 225/35 front and 255/30 rear. Afraid I worked too many years at a main dealer to deviate from factory fitted tyre sizes! I know alternative sizes provide better rim protection. I think the standard sizes look spot on.

I do agree that on the E9x platform tyre sizes near the OEM size looks better. I think 255/35 on the back of my car looks a little too chunky, even though that size tyre aids with speedo accuracy.

Your E91 is a really, really nice example.

Sunlight and angle probably show it more than it is, around the top and sides of the grille where it meets the bonnet.
