:S and now it's on the interweb for everyone to see!!

With his number plate too! Great invasion of privacy!

Should be careful guys. Although it isn't bank details and stuff it is still private. So far we know the buyers name, real plate and inside leg without consent, could get PH in trouble

I have deleted my post so if ribbo could put down his lentil soup for a minute and do the same to his that will be great.

Tonsko - The number plate on his car is on the front page of this site...... you know the one that is on it now not what it used to be!!

I hope you don't do anything daft with your new found knowledge that there is a silver BMW in London with Logic7 HI Fi.

Whilst we're on the subject of "incorrectly badges BMW's", can anyone post the pic of the chap who badged his E46 M3 CSL with a "316i" badge?

After having my first one stolen, I had the garage remove the M5 badges and replace them with 520i. If any one asked just said I'd put the wheels and exhaust form an M5 on, seemed to maake 'em go away..........

Yeh, the number plate has changed - by I suppose the spec hasn't. There is a visible number plate attached to a spec. I fail to see what numberplate it is makes a difference.

Good on ya for removing the spec details though.

My 535i had a 540i badge on the back - second thing I did was take the stupid badge off..... it might not sound like much but the first thing I did was to fit new tyres all round and the tyre fitters didnt check anything other than the badge on the back (which is fair I suppose). So now I have an invoice for new tyres on a 540i when the car is clearly a 535i.... looks odd when I come to sell though - an eagle-eyed buyer would take one look and be at least a little suspicious.....

Saw a 130i today (rare) with a sodding "M" badge on it - who the hell are they kidding.... monkey....

My 540i is debadged. If I put a badge on it would be 520i for laughs at the lights. Can't understand badging better than the real thing - sad.

However, I think this guy has a sense of humour - he knows a lot of people won't be fooled and looks forward to confounding the rest. It's quite clever and one of the rare cases where I approve

That RAC thing is wrong.....

It says my car was manufactured in December 1999, and the last owner change was January 1999.

That means I bought and registered the car before it was even built.

How can that be?

Same with mine. I bought mine March 2005. RAC says I bought in in August last year, and that it has 2 previous owners. I bought it as an ex-demo from the original owner - the dealer.

Um, if you tap in the reg of my Saab on the Dutch counterpart of that site, it will state that it's got a B201 (8 valve) engine with 145 hp; the reality is somewhat different . There's plenty of aftermarket engine conversions for Beemers, Mercs, Porsches etc. out there and unless they're ordered and built that way by the likes of Ruf, Alpina, Brabus (all of which are offcially registered as a vehicle manufacturer) OR the car has cone through an SVA procedure, it won't show in the DVLA data. Same goes for options/accessories that were installed by the dealer or elsewhere after the car's been registered - a common tactic with new cars here in the Netherlands because of a 45.3% (minus 3.500 euro for petrol cars) registration tax. This - along with other variables like condition, condition and condition - is why on line valuation systems based on the DVLA data are generally a bad idea.

Anyways, it's a bit premature to expose this guy/gal as a poser when there is a chance that there is indeed a bored/stroked 7.0 litre V12 lurking under this car's bonnet. It may be a remote possibility - but as long as none of us knows for sure...

The guy probably badged it to fool people into thinking it was a 770, and to get people talking about it.....seems to have worked. His car made it to the front of PH!

Here's one that doesn't sound too weird. I just saw a VW Bora on my way to work this morning. A Bora with Minnesota plates, on the streets in Nebraska, USA. And a front grille of a golf. I don't know why anyone in America would go through that much trouble, but then there are a LOT of Jetta's on the road...
