Is it a CSL or an Estoril Blue M3 with CSL reps?

Looks nice whatever it is!

Its a 2012 F13 640i M Sport Coupe (to give it its full title); picked it up around 6 weeks ago. Came from a 2004 645Ci which I adored (and still do); I miss the V8 rumble but I'm smitten with the F13. Smaller engine (3.0l turbo) but same power as my V8 and slightly better economy.

It's nice and smooth (thanks to 19s instead of 20s), I love the interior and it's got a few mod cons that I had never considered before (stop/start, hard drive for music, tilt sunroof). Only options I really wanted but couldn't get were reverse camera, comfort access and an exterior colour other than Black, Red or White. In fairness, Carbon Black looks dark blue under certain conditions (Deep Sea blue would have been my preferred colour). But overall I love it; I've been keeping an eye on the AUC website for other petrol variants and in the 6 weeks since, I haven't seen another car of similar or better spec for the budget, so well chuffed. And I don't get my hands all stinky at the pumps hehe

If you drove the 645 properly then any car will have better economy.

I could not agree more. Every time I push the pedal, I love the sound, acceleration ... but I think ... oops that s probably a few pounds there smile but I love it.

@parabolica thanks for the clear description. By the way, did you have issues with the 645cI (soft top, transmission)

My 645 was a coupe, and being a 2004 car one of the earliest released; I had some ups and downs with it. On the whole, the 3 years going from 65k to 100k were relatively painless, but the car was into the garage quite a few times. Gearbox oil seal replacement, rear discs replaced, alternator replaced (that one left me stranded in central London for 8 hours on the hottest night of 2015), rear bushes replaced, water pump replaced. So a few things, but in fairness they were mostly wear and tear items that were due to be swapped out.

By the time I traded it in, the valve stem oil seals were starting to fail, leading to excessive smoke under acceleration. It was only just starting, but it's a known issue, and an expensive one at that.

Love the fact it's the 640i and they're incredibly rare, the ride on 20s isn't too bad with the run flats removed but I bet it does ride nice on 19s, enjoy it thumbup

It was a "time to hustle!" moment for sure as even though the car was in the distance, he was clearly making progress tongue out

Both coupe and cabrio, E46 is a timeless shape I'd say. I've had many people n the street say how modem it looks and the can't believe it's from 2005. BMW just will never recreate that kind of a design ever again. Modern BMWs look dated after a few years sadly.
