That really highlights what a bloody awful mess BMW's styling department has become. The F80 is easily the ugliest saloon BMW has ever made. The E39 is still utterly gorgeous.
That's the thing about having an opinion, yours might be very different to everyone else's, but your still allowed to have it. However, maybe it would help to tone down the vitriol a little so as to not come across like a berk.

The F80 is a great looking motor by the way, love the green!

My 2003 E39 540i M-Tech Sport Individual with 32,000 miles (53,000 Kms). Sepia Metallic (code#474) exterior color with individual Champagne interior, individual stitching and two-tone steering wheel as well as the ultra rare Birke Anthrazit (BlackBirch) interior trim. I don't think 14 year old satnav is much of an omission, but PDC is nice to have.
Otherwise, looks great and remarkable mileage. Congrats.

That's a lovely E39. I've seen a few here in the USA like yours, with the ambers lit up. It's a good look, especially without having to have a front plate.

I posted some pics of my Oxford Green F80 M3 earlier in this thread (page 311), so I thought you might be interested in my latest acquisition.

Congratulations on the new steed which is in surely the finest interior and exterior colour combination that the E39 M5 was available in.

(Although I'm a teeny bit biased)

Thanks. We are part of a very select group.

So if you and I are two how many of the remaining 40 are left I wonder?

I still miss mine. Such good cars for such modest money. If I have another though, it'll get a proper LSD.

My plan exactly. Don;t have the space right now to keep it, and it's too highly spec'd to be a track car.

In a couple of years I'll find one, see I can put in a 330ci engine or LS V8, LSD and instant fun!

A proper LSD will cost more than the car though right?

A new one would be getting up there, but one from a crumpled M3 would surely be a bit cheaper.

But as we all know, any modified car is never going to be worth as much as the base car and the cost of the modifications!
