A rare machine... Toledo Blue? smile
It is indeed smile

It's actually a much better setup car suspension-wise than those standard rims would have you believe too wink

Excellent buy!

Will you be keeping the exterior of the car exactly the same if you drop the engine in? wink
Well I now have a fight on my hands! She has now fallen in love with "blue thunder" and wants to keep it standard. Some sweet talking to be done methinks.

But apart from new front wings and tidying up some of the scab I prefer to keep the exterior standard. Change out the mechanical gubbins and put in strut brace big brakes/suspension etc.

I have a spare E30 touring and was considering dropping the M51 2.5TDS from one of my E36's in.
Sensible man, may need to get an economical diesel on the side for bulk mileage, because 22mpg weeping out of my e34 530i on a run hurts.

Iit only has 140 miles on the clock (after 1 week of ownership). Computer says about 40mpg thus far, mixed driving. 0-60, haven't a clue, but it certainly feels quick. I had a 997 C4S previously, it is not that quick but feels like it isn't too far behind.

Another addition to the old school stable....E36 320i AT with 86500 miles....well, that's what I was told...turns out it had a clock change so is actually about 120 000, but full dealer history and one owner anyway.

Bought this a few days ago, thought I'd get a shot up here. Its my second 330, this time a Sport. Aegean Blue with Alcantara interior and its in great condition - very happy with it.

My latest acquisition. E28 528i Manual, got a few niggles and isn't pretty, but give me a little time and I'll have her sorted. The rear silencer fell off on the way home so do excuse the cable ties holding it up, it's actually now repaired.

Is it really Aegean? Looks like Topaz - which being a 2001 330Ci Sport it's far more likely to be smile

Well not being an expert on BMW paint colours, especially 'Individual' ones, I only referred to it as Aegean as that is what the seller advertised it as. A quick call to a dealership confirms that the 'Individual' door plates were a factory fit and the car has an Individual paint code - apparently 490U although I'm not exactly sure what colour this is and will probably be a nightmare in sourcing touch up paint I was hoping to acquire. And whoever the first owner was saw fit to delete the armrest. Why? Deleting the model designation I understand - looks cleaner for it too.

I think 490 just means 'Individual Paint' and does not actually narrow down the actual paint spec colour, I'd guess theres a sticker on the suspension turret that'll tell you though. wink

Just went and had a look. Where the usual colour would be it says Sonderlackierung which seems to mean Individual.

As you say, the sticker ont he suspension turret confirms what I'd known - Aegaeischblau Met - 336/5 - and below that Fueller Schwarz which it seems some suspect to refer to primer used on Individual cars.

Indeed. I hope it would show up better in some clearer pics - its a great colour imo, very rich. Its got HK and the sub too which isn't too rare. Do all Sports have the Sports Suspension? BiXenon & Elec fold mirrors too which is nice.

I asked for a print out to be mailed to me to which Williams Manchester obliged last time. Chap at Sterling Corner read them out over the phone but didn't have a chance to get them all down. Fair enough as they seemed pretty busy.

and respect for not pestering him for them... i was in BMW retail until only a few weeks ago and there is nothing worse than someone calling in with "i've just bought a new car (not from you by the way)... could you tell me this and that and bla bla bla".... i know salesmen might not be liked, but they are afterall just trying to earn a living!
