I asked for a print out to be mailed to me to which Williams Manchester obliged last time. Chap at Sterling Corner read them out over the phone but didn't have a chance to get them all down. Fair enough as they seemed pretty busy.
You can look it up on the database yourself - anyone can now smile

Just pop to the BMW website, click on Parts, and select Electronic Parts Cataloug from the menu. Follow the instructions to login, and once you enter your VIN click on the menu option at the top, Options I think it is?

Bingo - a complete list of your cars ordered options.

I didn't know the public have realised that little loop hole! Yes Fox is right... i used to use this when working from home as you can only access the actual mainframe when plugged into a server! Still doesn't tell you about dealer visits, order type, first customer, new car price etc tongue out

Thanks a lot Fox. Think I'd tried it before but couldn't get it to work, just realised it was my pop-up blocker and now have the full list.

Page has a red message at the top 'Individual data present' which at the bottom confirms Aegean 336 in combo with Aero package 716.

Attempting to decipher it all. Any idea if Sports Suspension settings S226A, M Sports Package II S338A and Aerodynamics package S716A are standard to all Sports?

Also, I understand the paint is the main individual item, but it also lists Individual Anthracite headlining S775A and BMW LA wheel Individual S789A - is the headlining 'special' and I'm pretty sure the wheels are normal MVIs.

Hi guys

Big BMW fan here. I had an E30 Touring and E34 IX Touring before this car, and I just love how old BMWs (pre-E36) look, drive and smell.

Noticed this thread, allow me to copy/paste my post from the "get your car rated" thread:

- Low milage (80.000 miles +/-), few owner car, original paint

- Rare color (Delphine Gray), rare textile interior which looks like new, shadowline exterior with the Edition strip alongside the car, original BBS wheels

- Totally original except for the CD player. I try to only use original BMW parts on it, although they always cost 2x - 3x more than the aftermarket alternatives. I'm going to continue to keep the stock look, because these cars are getting rare and it gets lots of positive nods and smiles as it is (didn't expect that people were going to approach me to talk about the car when I first bought it, but a they do!)

Such a lovely cruiser. Wish it had a straight six, then it would be perfect.

Thanks, looking forward to get to know the PH BMW guys.

Yes, they are standard options.

Mine is an E39 so the codes are different but it's a similar listing:

S715A M AERODYNAMIKPAKET M Aerodynamics package
S775A INDIVIDUAL DACHHIMMEL ANTHRAZIT Headlining anthracite
S705A M SPORTFAHRWERK II M sports suspension II
My car is about as far from an Individual as you can get given it's Titanium Silver with Black leather but still has the Invidual headlining listed.

I know. It's got three minor things that need correction (gear liver is getting ruined, rear right door ashtray cover is missing and driver seat's got 1x1 inch damage on the leather backside). Other than that it's literally spotless! I dare say one of the best conserved that exist today in an E28.

Have you considered converting it to an M30? It would be lovely with a 3.5 straight six sat in there.

Or....if you have some dosh...that M10 can be made to produce some decent power. I ran mine (in an E30) on bike carbs with a cam and bits and it went nicely, though I would have thought a simple blower on there would suffice.

When I first got it an engine upgrade was on my priority list, because the approx 100 ponies really, REALLY feel slow... But this was before I realized that I have done a bargain purchase on a very rare car (late production, Edition, the color combo) in a very rare condition.

As it stands now, I am more keen on fixing all technical stuff first, then fix the small dents, exterior bits and rust and give it a new paint job (on a car like this a paint job will only increase the value) so the exterior matches the interior!

The only non-original thing on my list is to change out the manual gearbox with an automatic, and use the car strictly as a cruiser. I drive it fast from time to time, but its character is much more a nice Sunday cruiser so that's what I intend. I love manual gearchanges but this car has no broad powerband at all, so it's tiresome to change gears all the time to squeeze out some acceleration... Better then to just put it in D and slob around...
Maybe a it will get a decent stereo upgrade as well (no cutting on panels, just replacing existing hardware with more modern and better stuff).

Thanks! Only doing the small DIY jobs myself, and the rest in cooperation with a local workshop (Alf Lie in Oslo) with great knowledge and passion for old BMW's smile

those side repeaters with the roundel on are one of my least favourite bits of BMW design of recent years, glad they did't get rolled out en masse to other models. The skirts are nifty though!
