Anyway this thread has been spammed enough, any more pics?
More of the grey 4 series please.[
Don't mind if I do......
In the house hold we have two 4 series cars. The hard top is a 420 d m sports and the convertible is a 428 I m sports. There both exactly the same colour and have the same options as in my eyes it's the best colour combo. Obviously the cars have different characters with the diesel being peppy and frugal and the 2.8 is really fast, faster than previous 6 cylinder car I've had ( excluding 335's)
Too early to comment on economy but I can say I'm happy with the sound of the engine as I was unsure what it would be like. The over riding elements of both these cars for me are that the ride and handling is Superb as is the build quality. I'm really happy with our choices.
As this is a pic thread here's another

So much more desirable than anything with... yawn... yet another turbo four... zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Hello P6B, Im glad you like the E24. The appeal of this car to me was really its looks and the time I spent in one as a yooooufff. Regarding engines, the world (and cars) has had to change so Im fully embracing the 3 and 4 pots that are powering current BMW cars. Especially when they are as good as the ones in my cars.TBH At the point of ordering the 428 had I the means to do so, yeah Id have pulled the trigger on 335I in a flash. However, now having driven both engines probably not so. Over the last 13 years I've pretty much always had 6 cylinders but this latest petrol unit has won me over with its big power and by it "big lunged" feel.
If ever you find yourself in my area id be happy to give you a go in the new one.

Whereabouts are you? I had a similar BMW myself... sort of... it was an E30 318i Touring, but same era, same sort of design language and the same Zinnoberrot paint, which was an absolute pain in the arse as it bleached to a dull pink every spring and had to be waxed and polished weekly to keep it red!TBH At the point of ordering the 428 had I the means to do so, yeah Id have pulled the trigger on 335I in a flash. That looks fantastic. A 330ci at 20, good effort! Oh, and happy birthday!
They're lovely cars, what's the spec? Manual or auto? The engines are soooo silky smooth in those, been in a few now

92k on the clock, Full Service history (BMW up until the last one which was specialist), 6 speed Spanish and ill be the second owner.
On the test drive, I absolutely loved the sound of the engine so I cant wait to get driving it properly!

A 330i at 20?! What the hell are you paying in insurance?!!!!!!!!!!
The right side of 1K Which I think is rather good.RoverP6B said:
I'd like to know who you're insured with and on what terms. My 22-year-old son can't get a quote for less than 4k for anything BMW, not even a bloody 318i.
A family member works for an insurance company so I get family discount. 3 years NCB, £600 excess, fully comp with a good postcode. Named drivers are parents with no accidents and a have been driving for 30+ years.
