There's some bargain E36's out there, just sold my 98 Sport for £800, but the question is how much do you have in it now with the new bumpers and window? wink

Agreed, they don't quite look right, especially at the rear....?

Not OE but a big improvement I think. 8.5J at the rear & 8J at the front.

Agree they do look better but I always think the Coupe really suits 19`s but then you have ride issues I suppose, hope you are enjoying the silky six engine. thumbup

Roughly:
  • Car - £575.90
  • Brand new roof and window fitted - £600
  • Full service (inc metal water pump and front brakes) - £200
  • Suspension bush refresh - £150
  • Sport bumper new nose cone and genuine M3 evo staggered wheels with decent tyres - £500
About £2000 including the original purchase price so some might say a lot money especially for a non sport.

But like I said in the first post of my diary above, I set out with a budget of £2500 but couldn't find anything in the right spec or condition. In my opinion I now have a much better car than any I had viewed previously, and I know that all of the work underneath is done to my own high standards with good quality parts which to me is worth 10x more than a receipt in a folder.

EDIT: see below

Is that a typo? How did you do a suspension refresh for £150? Surely shocks alone would be more than that, let alone with springs and any bushes etc

Just done bushes* so far, so not quite a "full" refresh yet. Post edited.

*Wishbones, drop links and lollipop bushes at the front. Trailing arm bushes, drop links and all 4 outer ball joints at the rear.

Have ordered some H&r springs which I will be mating to Bilstein shocks and M3 top mounts to finish off the job. Along with an alignment that'll probably take me to just over my original budget which is what my plan for this car was.

Have been a serial BMW owner, several E21 323i's, E38 728i sport, E36 of a few flavours, same for E30 a lovely E34 535 sport I wish I had kept, an E39 also, blimey it goes on! Current 2 here. My E32 project I have to now sadly sell and my new F10 520d which I really am impressed with.

Lovely E32 735i there. Those engines are magnificent aren't they. I've not driven an M30 engined car for over 3 years now but I do like them. Driven an E32 735i and an E34 535i (manual) which was superb. A real feeling of indestructibility.

How do you find the F10 520d compared to the 735i? I'm guessing everything superior in the F10 aside from engine refinement and build quality...??
