I don't think it is although it does look similar to one.

It indeed is a 'normal' M3, and not a CSL. Although, not having owned anything with this much power (by far), normal isn't a good word to describe it :-)

Best car I've owned, and that includes an E46 M3 & CSL, mk1 Escort Mexico, Pug 106 rallye & mk1,2&7 golf gti's.
A keeper.

Here's my new daily, to replace my Evo. It uses about half the fuel!

The CSL does photograph well, but the E30's are the most photogenic.

Very big fan of these as a daily and a nice colour too, we covered over 150k miles in one, they are a great all rounder I think.

Currently on winters which, in current temps, is like driving on marshmallows.

It is a nice car, with silky torque but headlights are rubbish and the elec PAS spoils things. They are my two bugbears.

I do find myself driving much slower in it, which is no bad thing.

I had the pre facelift and I think it had conventional fluid based power steering. I didn't realized this was part of the facelift.
