Anyone could have specified Dakar on any car as an Individual option.
It certainly wasn't listed as an individual colour option on all models... The Z4 being one hence AFAIK there isn't one in the UK.? Or less you can order a unique one off.? But at what cost.? Hence why there isn't one in the UK .!Edited by CRA1G on Sunday 4th January 14:57

There are several levels of Individual. First you get the advertised colours for a particular model, then there's the Individual catalogue, finally you can choose any colour you like. The latter option is about £5k at the moment I think, but depends on the paint.
Circa £2-2.5k is nearer the markYou tell the dealer what colour you want, ideally with a paint code, dealer submits a feasibility request to BMW GB, who send it to Germany for evaluation, and if it's possible come back with costings, adds 8-12 weeks to the build

Love it, steering wheel aside. What engine is in it?
Just an M50B20NV. 180k and still runs beautifully.I bought the steering wheel for my MX5, the original one was a pretty nasty affair so I swapped this in but 350mm is far too small for an E34 really. If I were keeping it I'd find something else.

And the stupid sticker.
This is a great pic though.
The sticker came about as part of an in-joke, and is easily removed. Thanks though, it's one of my favourites of the car. This is a great pic though.

Agree. I do love E34s. Had to be at least a later M50 525i for me though. 535i or 540i (or M5) would also be suffice.
I'd love an M5. A bit gutted that I missed out when they were much, much cheaper than they are now.The E36 is going to feel really poverty spec after this, but they are undoubtedly better to drive.

Thanks. Needs bits and bobs sorting but nothing major. My dad wants to get a hardtop for it, and needs a good mop, but that's something for spring time.richard300 said:
Nice..... Are those modified (non convertible) 'Tech 1' side skirts?
The Tech 1 kit really suits the chrome bumper E30's but its incredibly difficult to find the convertible skirts. I could be wrong but those look like modified non convertible skirts.
Not too sure. I don't know much about that kind of stuff, I'll try taking a picture soon and see if it helps. The Tech 1 kit really suits the chrome bumper E30's but its incredibly difficult to find the convertible skirts. I could be wrong but those look like modified non convertible skirts.

Ah yes, of course, the old JB4........
Can't tell if your being sarcastic or not? If you were genuinely wondering what a JB4 is then in short its perhaps the most common and popular form of aftermarket engine management for the N54 and N55 engines. Details of which are widely publicised on BMW specific forums and I didn't feel I'd have to elaborate to the majority, details are here - http://www.burgertuning.com/products.htmlhttps://www.google.co.uk/#q=%22bmw%22+%22jb4%22Edited by coleo on Tuesday 6th January 15:50

I wasn't, never heard of them.Edited by coleo on Tuesday 6th January 15:50
Having just had a quick browse, I'm guessing they intercept the pressure sensor outputs for fuel and air and reduce them thereby upping the boost pressure and fuelling, rather like the common rail diesel plug in jobs?
