Yeah, I can't comment on the sound aspect, but I've read so many articles that have criticised the stock exhaust for being heavy and inducing significant back pressure... the CSL carbon airbox is definitely worth it for sound alone, though. A lot of people don't seem to realise that sound is about intake more than it's about exhaust...
Couldn't agree more that's why I loved the sound my old e92 M3's made, a beautiful induction roar, its been lost in a world of farty contrived AMG and Jag exhausts sadly. TR4man said:

Just need to replace those nasty modern wiper blades though (if you don't mind me saying)

Oddly, I never liked the S65. Sounded almost like a flat-plane, a bit of a characterless drone to my ears. AMG, the old 6.2 lump would sound fantastic connected to any exhaust, but the 5.5 and 4.0 turbos with their artificial pops and bangs are a bit wearisome. Jaguar has contrived to muck up its supercharged V8 too.Beedub, remind us what sort of power your blown Z4M is putting down? Looks ace, and those wheels are a refreshing change from the usual CSLs.

You have to drive the cars to understand and experience them properly, did you drive them as you were looking to buy one?
I spent Thursday driving the 991 GTS at the PEC at Silverstone they sounded immense.

last dyno was 517 .... has had some breathing work since then and tune revision, it needs dyno check again... however the numbers jump about bit so i never really take them as gospel but well north of 500 anyway. Yeah totally agree on the wheels, whats even better that take such an aggressive setup to work you probably won't see them on another z4m, totally track biased suspension / geo setup needed.Beedub, remind us what sort of power your blown Z4M is putting down? Oddly enough I knew you'd disagree, you do know the M156 has very little induction noise?

Yes, I know it's not the most induction-heavy engine, but it still sounds a lot better than its successors do. And no, I've never been in the market for an AMG. Not yet, anyway. Watching as prices continue to fall, hoping to pick one up at the bottom of the market and enjoy an appreciating automobile... however, my point is, BMW engines and especially the N/A straight sixes are more about induction than exhaust. Same goes for most Italian engines. Sticking a noisy exhaust on will just make them feel chavvy. You have to drive the cars to understand and experience them properly, did you drive them as you were looking to buy one?

Is that 500whp or deduced bhp?Fitted the alloys bought at christmas finally! I didn't get round to refurbing them but as the standard wheels they replaced needed new tyres I stumped up and fitted these with much needed new rubber. The tyres cost me 4.5 times what I paid for the alloys! I'll leave them on for the 'summer' and fit winters to the old wheels then give the MV's a refurb during the winter.
Now I just need to sort a slight ride height drop, thinking 5-10mm if possible, just to have them sitting better in the arch. and to work on a tint to the windows.
Considering I haven't washed it in a few weeks the paint still shines in the sun!
