Blimey, makes my £595 535i seem expensive! That's had a ton of owners but had averaged under 6000 miles a year, ticked over 100k on the way home. What's your 523i done?
My 523 has just over 85,000 miles, had a service at 78k plus 4 new tyres (Fulda Ecocontacts) new discs and pads all round, new radiator/thermostat & housing, new ARB bushes and new coilpacks in the last year.I have done a oil/filter, spark plugs, rocker cover gaskets, oil filter housing seal, PAS fluid change with new seals and a general clean up of the engine bay as I want to ensure it's in tip top condition. Next jobs are giving the headlights a good polish & upgrade the bulbs - that said the lights are INCREDIBLE compared with the ones on my Corrados.
Currently my plans are simply to keep it clean and largely original, I'm tempted to do a few interior upgrades which can be easily swapped back for example some Sport Alcantara seats and perhaps some Alpina goodies and the subtle lip boot spoiler.

Lovely..... Tell us more 840 Ci with Sport wheels? How many miles? I think the E31 8 series has always been a very underestimate car and sure to be a classic prices are definitely on the up so hang on to it.. (but I would say that)johnfm said:

Yes... 840 Sport "Dakar" individual, tucked away now for winter,to be honest I don't think I'll ever sell it..!
We used to say that about ours... a Romantic Red Individual with Champagne Leather. It's gone now.I want to buy it back, it's SORN'd somewhere unfortunately.

I know what you mean.. There's a few cars I wish I'd never sold and some I couldn't even afford to buy back if I wanted too like the Z8.. and that's why my little collection is here to stay..
I saw a Z8 for sale on AUC last night for £205k I don't blame you for hanging onto that lovely collection you have. CRA1G said:

Decided to take the plunge today and dumped my trusty Civic diesel for a bit of German V8 goodness. Got a London to Edinburgh roundtrip lined up for the end of the month to really stretch her legs. 1 previous owner, 16 BMW main dealer service stamps and an unmarked red leather interior, been grinning like a muppet since I picked it up this afternoon!

Looks great. Those wheels look a bit different though, or are they just usual type for model?

Thanks! They're the 19" Style 121s, which were a £1,100 extra according to the original spec sheet. Thankfully they're not as crashy I was expecting them to be, but that might be because it's not running RFTs.Those wheels look a bit different though, or are they just usual type for model?
I am tempted by a set of 18" Style 37s, but I'm not convinced they'd look anywhere near as good on an E63 as they do on an E38/39.

Come on theophany stop teasing and show us the interior
Sorry, where are my manners! I've not had a chance to get the old SLR out for some proper snaps yet, but I do have the dealer photo.Steering wheel may benefit from a retrim and the gear stick is a bit worn - all part and parcel of an 11-year old motor tbh. But the seat bolsters have no wear, all the electrics work a treat and the only thing I can really fault is that funny mechanism in the centre console where the phone cradle sits; if you don't have the optional telephone there are still two buttons...
Lovely looking car you've got there, like the alloy wheels as well. If you're looking for your steering wheel to be re-trimmed then you won't go wrong with Jack at

He's very well thought about within the BMW community & his prices are spot on too.
