I've just zoomed in on the odometer.... wow!
It's actually done much more than that, the speedo was changed from a kph to mph, so you have to add 5055km. Still not exactly high miles at 4100 for a 36 year old car!

The owner was good enough to let me see it for real; it is actually so much better than the pictures - truly a beautiful motorcar and this particular one is in breathtaking condition.

I'm so so envious of your M1.

Please can you post more pics for me to drool over?

Thanks.

I think the M1 has aged so well and still looks fantastic. I recall sitting in the one L&C owned as a 20 something year old in the early 90's. It was £45k and seemed a steal for the money.

Here is my D3 Biturbo and my stepson's M3 CS from a couple of years ago. I still have the ALPINA but Craig has changed to a E92 M3 in frosted grey.

Am I the only one who thinks that numberplates containing alphanumerical combinations used to refer to engine configurations should only be issued to cars containing such an engine? Is it just my OCD?

Since completing quite a lot of work in June, I've done nearly 1,000 miles - which, considering the car and overall mileage, I think is a lot!

M1 with a ropey old E24 - they would be the same colour if it wasn't for the rust on the E24...... and if any more of it rusts away they might get close to the same weight.

OMG OMG OMG.

Youve posted more of the M1, please post more of that shark!

So much envy!

Not often you see an SE and non M Sport 6 Series... strangely I quite like it
I started with a budget of only £20k so this car was from the cheaper end of what was available on the market - M Sport's were out of my price bracket.

Interior photo as requested.

Thanks. I've had a few niggles sorted out, got a few more still to do. Will be taking it for a thrash through the Peak District tomorrow.

Missed this, must have been because it was at the bottom of the page.

Started off as a nice day so the M635CSi which hadn't been out in the rain for ages came to visit. We'd just set of for a blast in the M1 when the heavens opened! Good job I'd just changed the wiper blade so we could actually see where we were going! As soon as we got back the rain stopped, typical!

Unfortunately the M635CSi got rather wet and dirty on its return journey.
