I am now back upto 2 x BMW. (sorry about the poor pics)
First is an 530d Tourer. This is an ex BMW management car and a great spec and very well looked after. Bought from its second owner, I am very pleased with it...
Second is one purchased a few weeks back. I was on a road trip sat in Lake Garda on eBay and spotted this on the south coast of England. The logical thing to do on the way back from a road trip is to buy an old BMW. This is also an ex BMW management car, then owned locally. Its very original and solid and I intend to improve and keep it that way. It is a 328i.
I'm after a 530d touring in silver myself. Very nice. First is an 530d Tourer. This is an ex BMW management car and a great spec and very well looked after. Bought from its second owner, I am very pleased with it...

First up apologies for the poor photo, but it was raining when I collected it and took the photos. Will get some better ones as soon as I get a chance!
Anyway, having agreed to sell my Ruby black Z4C I got withdrawal symptoms before it even got collected, so I found myself travelling to Warwickshire on a train to collect it's obvious replacement - doh!
Here it is in the gloom:-
Montego Blue with Pearl Grey is lovely in any weather (Ruby Black only stood out in the sun, which is rare in the UK!).
Bonus is this one has a stainless centre and rear section exhaust which is more burbly than OEM - just the job for an N/A petrol Straight 6!

Managed to get mine out this weekend...thing is it seems to be getting smaller... or I'm getting bigger...
Wow - that is stunning! Would love to sample a Z3MC one day - even if it did leave me out of love with my Z4C!
Fantastic car you have there OP!

Neil, looks great, how are you getting on with it? I'm currently driving an A5 convertible which was palmed off to me from the Mrs (long story) but its gotta go and one of these is on my shortlist, would be good to hear any thoughts on day-to-day use and essential options to look out for etc. Cheers, Tony.

Thanks, very well, I test drove the Golf R before purchasing this and as soon as I heard it start up, that was it
As far as day to day driving is concerned, I have a 10 minute commute so I went for the manual, I test drove the auto and whilst it was great, wasn't for me. The manual is great, a little stiff to get into 3rd but its loosening up over time.
I went with the Adaptive Dampers too and given our roads, definitely worth it. Really smooth and soaks up the bumps on the longer drives in Comfort, and once in Sport, you can really feel it stiffener up, throttle is more responsive and steering tightens. Tbh, after the adaptive option, everything else is just a bonus really. When picking my options, I decided that cruise control wasn't really a requirement, so gave it a miss, however, the longer drives can leave your right foot a little sore so I'm getting it refrofitted as its not an official BMW addition ... apparently!!
What else is in your short list?
Any other queries, let me know!
Thanks
Neil

Thanks for the info Neil. My commute is only 15mins so manual would be fine, but I was thinking of going for a nearly new 2016 car and manuals are few and far between compared to autos!! Adaptive dampers sounds like a definite though. Thanks, very well, I test drove the Golf R before purchasing this and as soon as I heard it start up, that was it

My list is a bit random to be honest, setting aside the Sheila's Wheels jokes I quite like the A5, its just that the convertible bit means the boot is hopeless. I play a fair bit of golf and one of the main reasons for getting shot of it is I have to put my clubs on the passenger seat!! So one of the options is an S5 coupe because I like the shape. The M135i fits in because of the practicality of the hatchback shape, it may well spend most of its life with the back seats down though! Plus I was into bikes when I was younger so never did the hot hatch thing. The final curveball is a neighbour a few doors down who has a very clean Defender 90 for sale..... I don't need a 4wd at all, it'll be noisy, slow and uncomfy, but equally I'm kinda curious!! Hopefully it'll sell soon just to remove the temptation!

No problem! Yes, when I was in the BMW garage, they kept on at me regarding the autos, once I said I'm getting a manual, they were surprised, like they'd forgotten that was an option! There seems to be a few issues with the autos at the moment too, whining in some gears and reverse, resulting in new gearboxes. Have you tried fitting your clubs in the boot as you lose a little space around the wheels due to the RWD? Boot is still pretty big mind! I do like the S5s but I'm not really a massive audi fan. I do love the Defenders, just drive the other way and avoid driving past ha!

Just done a search on BMW's website, the nearest 3 door manual car under 1 year old is 140 miles away, but there are 22 auto cars within that range!! Yep, fair point, I'd take my kit down there and do a quick test to make sure it all fits, I guessed they wouldn't fit sideways hence the thought of it having to be a seats down job.Have you tried fitting your clubs in the boot as you lose a little space around the wheels due to the RWD? The commute is fine, that is in the other direction...... its the dog walk that's the problem, its on the way to the woods so I get to walk there and back past it twice a day!! It was still there this morning!!

What sort of age are you looking for because I got mine brand new for just under £28k with about £2k of options, if you try using Coast to Coast, you'll get a massive discount on new cars, that's who I used. You could probably pick up a new one cheaper than a less than 1 year old used. Get a quote at least The commute is fine, that is in the other direction...... its the dog walk that's the problem, its on the way to the woods so I get to walk there and back past it twice a day!! Thats a bugger, maybe use a blindfold and let the dog lead the way until you're past it!!

Blimey, didn't know that! Its a fair point, I haven't got any further than browsing the BMW website yet but that's the sort of price of the nearly-new cars that I was looking at, I'll give it a go. Ha, he's a rescue Staffie, and whilst he has his good points, I don't think being a guide dog is one of them!!Thats a bugger, maybe use a blindfold and let the dog lead the way until you're past it!!

It's a great site as they do more than just BMWs, I find myself experimenting with all sorts!!Fair enough, wouldn't want him to see a squirrel if you're blindfolded!
