Just to update: It's not starter motor, fortunately, as that's a 5 hour job involving removing the exhaust manifold, but it is the earth / ground cable off the starter motor which is (a) still a "bit of a pig of a job" and (b) on back order from Germany - as it's Christmas a new one won't get on the car sooner than an ebay 2nd hand part so I'll just have to keep turning the heater up in my E36 328 Cab. At least I'm getting better mpg in that than I was in the E63...
So is that something common for these ? I am asking as I have the E64, same year. Was it an expensive job ?

Posted in this topic a while back when I picked up my E92 M3. Since then I've had a couple more:

BMW M4 Individual - Tanzanite Blue. Bought this in August on 6,000 miles. Stonking car.

(Not my wedding! - best mates. I'm in the passenger seat)

Bought this last month:

BMW M6 Competition Pack. HUGE spec and formally owned by a PHer who posted this thread when he ordered the car new - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Nice to see she was so well looked after in a previous life! I am well chuffed with it.

Competition Pack (576bhp)
Carbon Ceramic Brakes
Extended Opal White leather interior with detailed contrast stitching
Alcantara headlining
Bang & Olufson Advanced sound (absolutely ridiculous!)
HUD
Rear Camera
Heated steering wheel
Soft close doors
Carbon Trim

I was going to say that looks like Palmball's car before I saw the link. You have forgotten (if you know!) that he had the M Drivers pack installed in Germany, so now it's just limited to 190mph (305kph).

I was aware as dealer informed me and have all relevant paperwork, but thanks for the heads up anyway!

Gorgeous cars and colouors, how do you find the M6 in comparison ? did you sell the M4 or keep both and be greedy wink love the wheels on the M6 really suits it, are they standard CP wheels?

Thanks. The M6 is a total weapon. Much more refined and feels much faster, the extra weight helps a bit with traction. Feels a lot heavier obviously and not quite as nimble but the comfort and quality of the cabin make up for that.

Haha, unfortunately my pockets aren't deep enough for both cars! sold the M4 just before Christmas.

The wheels are with the standard CP yeah. I think they look great on the M6, nearly bought an M5 competition but really don't think those wheels suit the 5 at all.

Try my finances if you ever come to sell it and send me an inbox, you never know I might be having a good few months wink

Is it just me or do E86s look wrong on those five-spoke wheels? Weren't they a carryover from the Z3? If I had one, a set of CSLs would be on my shopping list.

I don't recall Z3 coming with 5spoke split rims, 5spokes like this:

Agree some CSL or BBS CH wheels on a E85 cabrio/coupe would be outstanding
