Good choice - Such a rare colour, really hard to show up on pics what it looks like...

You keeping the wood trim??
Everyone needs to get their steering wheels re-done, I forgot how old they looked

Whats the details? miles, year? price etc?

No I'll be changing the wood at some point, probably go for carbon fibre.

It's an 2005 SMG 2 Individual Spec, fully loaded. It's done 105k with full BMWSH from New, one owner from New. Immaculate condition with no rust, just needs two parking dings sorting and the sideskirts could do with a respray If I'm fussy.

Overall I'm thrilled with it, and I'm very pleased with how well its been looked after.

With the exchange rate and the fact such cars are harder to sell here, I actually got it for less than you would pay for the same specced car over there, especially for one that has been pampered it's whole life.

I'm very happy with the price. smile

Hmm, at least one of my E39s could do with a steering wheel retrim/restitch - recommendations?

Royal Steering wheels - takes about 2 weeks - you just post it to them - I did the gator on my gear stick too

Hmm, I'd need to get another steering wheel in the interim... and would leave removal/refitting to the pros...

I had a mechanic mate who did mine - if you ring them they have spare wheels they can send you too

Removing it is easy, unclip the airbag, disconnect, unscrew single bolt, remove wheel.

Problem is I'm using these cars daily. I'm not mechanically inept, but having heard of cases where steering wheels have been improperly affixed (usually Triumphs) I'd rather leave it to those with the appropriate tools and expertise.
