My brief BMW history.
BMW 118d M-Sport (2008)
Bought when I was 19. 143bhp felt like st off a stick at 19 years old and I absolutely adored this car. Covered 45k in two years and eventually sold it when the DPF went at 129k.
Miles covered: 45,000
Bought for £8,950
Sold for £5,250
BMW E92 335i M-Sport Auto (2007)
Had a brief 6 month spell with an R32 in between these two, but bought this just after my 22nd birthday. Felt like an absolute powerhouse stepping into it after having the R32 (which was a great car by the way, but not hugely fast). I thought she was a keeper for at least a few years, I absolutely adored it. Massive spec, power and comfort. However, I had it about 6 months before I started hearing the beginnings dreaded turbo wastegate rattle (wish I'd looked into this before buying a 335i on 70k...), took it to my local specialist and they advised me to run to the hills. Managed to get rid before anything drastic happened.
Miles Covered: 11,000
Bought for £11,250
Sold for £10,500
BMW 535d M-Sport Auto (2007)
This car is a bit of a legend in within my group of car-nut friends. It has been owned collectively by four of us having being sold to each other over the space of a about 5 years. It was an ex-demo car and had an absolutely monster spec, literally everything. My mate originally bought it for about £27k in 2010 with about 35k miles on it I believe. I believe it was around £70k out of the showroom in 2007. I eventually bought it for £10k in April 2015, glad I didn't foot the depreciation. The car itself has been subject to a DMS remap about was running 330bhp and 500lb/ft ish. It was bloody quick. However, I never really connected with the car. I dunno if it was because I felt a bit like a grandad as a younger chap driving a swoony 535d around. Just never really clicked. Only had it for about 3 months before I strapped a pair of balls on and decided to blow all my future earnings on the car below...
Miles Covered: 3,000
Bought for £10,000
Sold for £10,000
BMW E92 M3 Manual (2009)
This has always been my dream car. Still can't quite believe I own it to be honest. I bought this in June of 2015 after putting a deposit down on a Range Rover sport. After deciding that Range Rovers are boring and realising that I was a 22 year old with the ability to buy an M3, I should. So I made the decision be stupid and ignore what my girlfriend said and just buy it. I'd never even driven one, I'd just always been madly in love with M3's. I could've hated it. I picked it up and literally haven't stopped smiling since, it's such a special car. Proper V8, proper gearbox. Wanted one with EDC which I got and can't wait to properly put it to the test when I track it for the first time in May. Costs me a bloody fortune to run, but I don't care. 13mpg average round town. Set of tyres in 6k. A million pounds to service. It is absolutely bloody fantastic. 2nd gear, M mode, EDC set to Sport Plus, MDM on... foot flat down. BLOODY HELL YES. That throttle responce. POWER. I'm off for a drive.

Hi all, my first (hopefully of many) BMWs. Mint 2006 330d. Was serviced at BMW Park Lane most it's low mileage life till I bought it from the second owner at end of last year. Great all round car, fast, efficient and comfortable. Amazing on faster (smooth) B roads, the low profiles on the 19s are easily upset by potholes and ruts in the road however. I'd like to add rubber and keep the wheels. Has anyone successfully achieved this on an E92 SE without messing up the ride height or causing other issues like arch rubbing? And is it easy to change the tachometer to match a higher profile tyre? The front definitely could
cope, it seems a bit too high actually.

Bought and collected my E63 645Ci last year from Blackburn (I live in London), from a thoroughly honest trade seller at a reasonable price, it's a rare 04 manual coupe (without the cupholder!). I still remember the drive back, applying the power when joining the motorway and whooooosh roar!
It is a very competent low mileage-ish example in which I love to tour and have added far more miles in the year than I normally would in a car. I have been around 5,000 miles on a couple of trips to Europe, including a visit to the Nordschleife and around the UK. It is not blow-your-pants-off exciting, but seems to do everything really well whilst still satisfying the hoon in me. I love manual coupe Bee-Ems!
Before I saw the other side of the car when I went to collect from a service at BMW...
The 'hairy chest'
I like clean, but don't get enough time!

Love it. Now to me, that's a proper six and is how I see a modern version of the original. It is a very competent low mileage-ish example in which I love to tour and have added far more miles in the year than I normally would in a car.
