Believe s Hi Fi speakers installed as a factory option on the family wagon, but having come from Audi BOSE systems, I have to say the sound quality is average. Is there an easy remedy to improve?

Cheers

Nope.

You could try 'upgrading' the speakers but it wont help much. Some people have used a sound on top box (google it) but i've used similar and wasnt that impressed - they just amplify the naff sound thats there.

The answer is an amp, bass box and decent speakers. Unfortunately there is no 'amp out' on the standard head unit, so budget £500 for something to do that. Then maybe £300+ for an amp, some of of bass box £200, building it in £400, speaker upgrade to anything worthwhile £400. Fitting £300.

Or put up with the naff sound

Rip out the factory amp, using all wiring going in/out of it, put in a decent one that takes a hi level balanced input, then replace the front speakers and the underseat subs with earthquake sws-8's.

Can be done for £600 and sounds stunning.

I have just had my Amp replaced under warranty. It was sounding terrible, some of the speakers were distorting and the under seat subs were cutting out when it was cranked up.

The replacement has made a massive difference making the sound quality ok now, although it does sound muddled at times.

My previous car was a Volvo with the premium Pro logic set up, which was amazing.
