My ecu is broke in my 530d 2004. I took it to my local BMW dealer and they said it had been letting water in, coroded and then shorted out. A price for a knew one is £1400 +. Is there any where else that sells them cheaper!

Ridiculous, ask your dealer to request BMW UK for a goodwill gesture. Why was it letting water in?

My guess is because the tuner didn't seal the ecu box back up properly after the remap??

I would take it back to them and tell them to cover the costs!

the problem you will have with a second hand one is its chassis embeded and is unlikely to talk to CAS the immobiliser.BMW programming will reject ecu

it maybe possible through someone with autologic
