Can anybody help. My Satnav no longer works, in fact the navigation option no longer appears on my screen. In addition to this the resolution of the screen has got worse. The TV function still works perfectly as well as the other options.

I thought it could be a faulty Video Module unit so I bought a replacement off ebay, no change. I then got hold of a new sat nav computer no change. I replaced the head unit, no change.

Im out of ideas??

Cheers

I'm going to ruin your day here with the phrase "K-Bus failure".

Thanks, but what does that mean?

The reason why your monitor resolution has changed is because your monitor is now being run by your TV module for some reason - either the navigation computer is faulty, or the wiring to said computer is faulty.

The K-Bus is the cable which runs around the car and incorporates/interconnects almost everything electrical which feeds into the sat-nav/OBC... If you've replaced all the components of the Sat-Nav then it's almost the last thing left to not work due to heat/age degredation.

BMW Diagnostics should be able to tell quickly if it is the K-Bus which has failed.

It's not a cheap thing to replace though.
