Bloomin manager speak. No wonder I didn't understand it.

No doubt some german bod came up with it to avoid implying the current car was less than perfect and needed a facelift....

Are you ever going to buy a new car welshbeef?

No one needs this many questions answered, shirley?
i think if you look at his current fleet, you will see that he can't afford one that he is waiting until they are about 6 grand.... only another 5 years to go then hehe
Its not a matter of not being able to afford one its just Im being a little cautious currently given the economy/job security & as a contractor there is no "redundancy" to cover those out of work weeks/months.

Understatement of the year - "a little cautious"

Go for it mate, you really wont regret it. Its an (albeit depreciating) asset, therefore if things dont go to plan flog it again.

I honestly don't think WB should buy a 535D - or any other car of similar price - if he's stretching to buy it. These aren't economic times to do such a thing, and I can imagine the poor guy going mad if the car suffers any sort of abnormal depreciation (which it could well do).

I've never ever seen such umming and arring over any sort of purchase, to the point that I'm beginning to feel sorry for the guy...

They are certainly not in demand any more because of the engine size, perceived fuel consumption, and fears around diesel pricing. My local dealer now doesnt stock anything above a 525d - 90% are 520ds, so it would certainly be a car to buy and drive rather than buy and try to sell in six months. Mine was £23K in june and was the cheapest 05 AUC in the UK at the time. I'd say i'd be getting trade bids around £15K for it now. Not that thats an issue because i'm not selling it.

Not for the faint hearted but then any big engined car is a risk these days.

I wouldn't want to be looking around at cars I wasn't in the position to buy just yet, it would be all too tempting for me.

Because its a car enthu site. Putting down costs is good for yourself to keep a track of it and also for other potential buyers.

We can all state oh x car is cheap to run but y car isnt well by putting down the costs as per your profile is part and parcel of it.

Otherwise should you disagree I suggest you ask the Moderators "Why" they bother putting that functionality in.

Also "Why" is there a thread "Wilkopedia MPG real life" ? its a source of usefull data.

Clearly if you have a dog of a car with constant problems and in the future looking to sell it it might not be the best place to be putting down your issues as it would put off some potential buyers.
I could understand someone wanting to get as much info as possible about a car they want to buy - to me it's a little anal but I see the purpose......

What I don't get is why you need this info on every single car that BMW make? I notice now Merc aswell.

Not having pop at you WB, just don't understand the logic or the need for the info???

Im interested in the following BMW cars:-
330d (204bhp & 231bhp model)sport
330i sport sub £6k/7k
535d sport
335d sport (too much currently)
123d sport
130i M sport.

Out of the list I'd say ignoring budget the 535d/335d would be my number 1 choice.

As for the Merc bluefin or whatever its called I was simply stating that no longer is the 123d king of that spec of car. Never really been that fond of Mercs althought the new sport models do look nice but are out of my budget.

So is a satsuma I'm guessing! Come on WB, do the deed, get it bought and then we can have a 'WB's got a new car party' I'm sure there are a few on here who would be up for that, don't worry we will all bring drink so you won't have to construct a spreadsheet to work out how much on average people will drink! laugh Sorry feeling a bit cheeky today!

I often find myself umming and aaahing between £6k and £20k cars as well. And petrol hatchbacks versus diesel saloons. Always a good one.
