Ok so having tried searching and it not working, and looking through the Fleet seaching most history, but nothing.

So what are the common issues for these? What are the costs likely to be? They are in the super bargain category now and the missus quite fancies one, so I have been tasked to do a bit of research.

Thanks in advance.

I've had mine a week, and averaged aroud 19 mpg.

I think the tyres will be pricey when then need replacing as they are big and wide.

Apart from that, I haven't had any issues, or read about much.

Over all loads of power, toys and really comfy.

Only issue i can report is that someone crashed into mine today frown

Seems she was having a seizure of some kind whilst driving, and crossed the centre line, into my car.

Day to day running isn't too much of an issue as she hardly does any miles per year. More concerned about large service items like suspension/gearboxes etc.

There are a few posts on X5World about people having tranmission issues, but they seem few and far between.

Also from what I can gather they have trick air suspension, which if goes wrong will cost alot.

What sort of price are you looking at, as I picked up a "loaded" 53 in grey for 11k.

Looking closer to the bottom of the market, so about £8k-ish for an 01/02. I'll have a look at X5world thanks for the tip. Enjoy yours.

I've had my 4.8 for 2 and a half years, i love it. The tyres are pricey, so is road tax, and you won't get great mpg's but its a very good car and well worth it. My advice though is to definitely go for the 4.4. A friend of mine had a 4.4 and decided the get the 3.0 to save money on fuel and said that he got exactly the same mpg from both, mostly because the engine has to work harder in the 3.0.

Hope that helps and good luck
