Hello,

As I understand it, the OE six disc changer in the boot that comes with a few different BMW models is MP3 compatible after around the end of 2005 onwards. I've got an 05 M3, and the 6 disc changer is NOT MP3 compatible.

If I upgrade to a later 6 disc changer that IS MP3 compatible, will the tracks/album titles etc be displayed on the professional SatNav/TV screen that is in my car? At the moment, "normal" CD's don't display any details, the front screen just displays "CD1" or "CD4" etc, it does not even tell you which track is playing.

Failing that, if I go down the ipod route, am I right in thinking that you have to somehow plug this in in place of the six disc changer? What parts/leads etc are needed for this? Will this method DEFINATELY display tracks/album details on the front screen and will the steering wheel audio controls still work, or do you have to control track selection etc direct from the actual ipod?

Many thanks in advance!
