335i 0-60 is comparable but I'd have thought the 6 will have longer legs and will pull away.
335i might be a little more spory in terms of change of direction etc., but you'd only realy see benefit of that on really twisty stuff/track... i.e, rarely.
The materials used and fit and finish I believe are better in the 6 but then I would say that
6 will feel more special to get in every day, I love the interior design... even little details on the lighting have been well thought out.

I take it you have a 6 then and they come highly reccomended? I wont be tracking the car so I guess its leaning more and more towards the 645, or 650 if I can find any here
I had a look through the stats in road tests and the BMW site, and from what I can tell, the 335i and 645i should have very similar power to weight ratio and performance. Although significantly bigger and more expensive than the Three, the Six is relatively light. If you compare like with like (same engines & ‘boxes) the Three Coupe is only about 4% lighter.
The V8- engined models are heavier, but then they have more torque – the 645 has greater torque to weight than the 335i, so should feel quicker when not wringing its neck. Plus you get the advantage of a BMW V8 that actually sounds like a really great, sporting V8 engine.
A couple more points. The 645 has other advantages for me (the engineer). It was one of the first cars with Valvetronic valve gear. This was a huge leap forwards IMHO, and stopped the contemporary 745i being too slow and thirsty when it put on so much weight. The 645 didn’t put on weight, and was quick and relatively frugal.
Plus, you can get them with six-speed manual boxes. V8 manuals are wonderful machines to drive – gear-changing is largely optional, but all the more rewarding when you feel like it. The valvetronic engine adds fantastic flexibility and part-throttle efficiency, so although the EC consumption figures don’t look especially good, there’s great potential when you’re not rowing it along like a small engined car
The Six was also one of the first cars with dynamic drive, and it was tuned for handling. It might be bigger than a Three, but it’s hardly heavier, and to all intents and purposes, the dynamic drive cars don’t roll in corners. That allows quick direction changes, and keeps the tyres upright and flat on the road, so grip is enormous
I don’t much like the nose treatment on the Six (the Three Coupe is nicer for me) but the cabin is a lovely place. And having looked at the price of 335i’s that I’ve seen advertised, I think a 650i might be a better comparison. So another vote for the Six, then?

@roofer - Boats... you're having a laugh... It's no boat.. ang the great thing about it.... It's not a sales-rep mobile in a wannabe sportcar outfit either
Excluding the M6, they're a boat And an M6 are not to good round a tight track, which is probably why "a sales-rep mobile in a wannabe sportcar outfit either" pissed all over them at Donington this year. ;)

I won't be taking the M6 round Cadwell..... let's put it that way...
However, a well driven M5/M6 will do remarkably well... you need to be a bit braver in the twisty stuff though and trust the car is balanced enough for the weight to not be an issue.
Although... I'm not sure if the M6 vs. E92 M3 weight is 'that' different is it?
P.S Those M3s don't do bad against their natural competition of Mondeo ST220's and Audi S4s do they...

I have had my 645 since June and love it.
It has a great presence on the road and gets a lot of admiring glances as there are not that many about compared to other BMW models.Performance is good but mpg goes down a lot if you toe it, but I'm not to fussed about that as I expected it. Overall a great car.
