Hi there, ive owned this car for about a month its a 2001 330D and have done 2000 or so miles, this problem started with small vibration under braking which i didnt take a great deal of notice of but the vibration has started with no braking and have found the right hand front brake is sticking on, getting extremely hot!!! possibly warped the disc but is this a common problem with the calliper? or is this a more serious issue with the ABS? i know someone has fitted red stuff pads to the front, cant think why! not sure if this could be a factor.. will take it off and have a investigate further soon.. any advice would be great.

Sounds like a sticking brake caliper. The caliper will need to be removed, push the pistons out as far as they can without popping out, clean them up and see if it's any better. If you want to pop the pistons out you'll need a rebuild kit including new seals.

Alternatively, if you're not a "dirty hands type" take it to your local indy. A lot of places these days though just want to change the whole caliper.

What he said. Just get the caliper rebuilt. It means some shiet has got into the caliper and needs cleaning out, a fairly common thing.
The longer you leave it the more you risk totally ruining your brakes and fuel consumption, which for a diesel driver must be hell wink

Drivng a diesel is bad enough without the brakes sticking on wink i'd much rather just rebuild the calliper and maybe i'll do the others for peace of mind, everyone ive asked wants to sell you a calliper surprising hey! but any thoughts on where i might get hold of some new seals? ive not looked but i take it its not a single pot floating calliper but just a twin pot instead?
