Opinions on the BMW Gina

It's true to say the concept of the car is more about the ideas behind the technology than the aesthetics.
The changing of form depending on the conditions is something BMW already do with efficient dynamics. Fair enough the existing technology is only the closing of vents behind the grill but the Gina concept is a much more visual way of conveying this sort of thinking.
Other manufacturers are looking at issues like how to make shapes more slippery and tightening of shutlines and other detail changes are the small things that make a difference. I've worked with another manufacturer which is looking at similar ideas but with less exotic materials but to achieve the same result.
It's also worth noting that the form change idea isn't a new one - Mitsubishi had a concept car with similar details about ten years ago.
