CBC is active when the brake is pressed on the e46 CSL regardless of the state of DSC. Not sure about other models though.

I have to confess I thought the whole point of that exercise was to lock the fronts so the front wheels no longer influence the direction of the car - ie remove the front wheels from the equation. Will have to watch the dvd again. I don't think it'll work with ABS but can't be sure without trying it.
I have to admit, I've only tried it in a non ABS car. All the other techniques he's shown me over the years work with ABS, so I do believe this should too.

Fundamentally the front brakes are much bigger and more powerful than the rears. So even with CBC/EBD I'm sure giving it the beans at decent RPM would overwhelm the system shifting the brake bias forward (which is what we want).

Hard to believe any of this works at all, until you've tried it! I remember the first time I did it. I drove around to the start again, jumped out and accused Andy of being a master of some lesser known black magic artform.

The most fun though had to be with Andy driving.
Me : just bought this MX5 for track days and it's too slow and won't drift/powerslide (mk1 1.6 before I had the turbo fitted)
Andy : can I have a go?
You can guess what happened next, it was pure automotive ballet. Long drifts, transitions, donuts, the lot. Yet it never felt harsh or abrupt. It's quite hard to laugh when you're choking on tyre smoke!

In the video he locks the fronts completely - I thought that was a required part of the excercise, I might be wrong though. Will watch again - possible we are talking at cross purposes.

Andy is quite good in a car wink always fun when he gets in your car, unless you have a Noble when he is sure to break it.

Not just mine, he has broken loads of them. They are not built well enough for his driving.

I wouldn't have put them down as fragile. I do understand they're low volume and so a bit quirky, but...
