Thats all fair enough mate. But I find all that comes pretty naturally anyhow. I can appreciate though if it didnt come naturally and being told it and then putting it into practise would make you a better driver.

Totally agree dxb - they're trying to goad you into saying something that they can use against you.

F**kin grow up rolleyes I think you've well and truely been there and done that in other threads. Makes you worst in my eyes. This thread does have some fairly factual and useful comments in it but as usual it gets ruined. The BMW section of this forum has got to be one of the worse for opinionated and demeaning posts from some members .......pity really.

I'm quoting him verbatim, he is the tarmac terrorist (when combined with the DXB obviously). Once people know that it'll help put his driving tips and condescending nature regarding driving ability into context and they'll take him more seriously. HTH.

PS. "F**king" has a g on the end, this place is going to the dogs when people can't even be bothered to type swear words properly.

People do look to forums for information and useful knowledge. I think it's good for people to qualify what they say. I don't post on doing standing quarters as I know very little about performing them. I do post about trackdays as I've done lots of them. I would urge others to do the same.

But yes, some growing up to do for most on here. But hey, that's a public forum for you.... wink

BTW - thats one hell of a good price for a 530d SE 2004 reg. 231bhp & 369lbf, you got big boy alloys on it or the std items (big boy meaning upgraded to M sport or the upgraded BMW SE rims)?
Actually spotted a typo on there, I bought it this month, not Jan 08. The price is correct and was from a BMW main dealer too. The car has upgraded bigger/wider SE rims (124s I think?) and most of the better options (except nav). PM me if you're in the market for something and I'll give you the salesman's details, he's a very good/realistic chap.
You really don't know Welshbeef do you hehe

Carl you are a GODbiggrinbiggrin
So, assuming you are that good and turn off DSC to enjoy true car control. You enter a corner, get into oversteer, apply lock but hit the lock limit before the slide has been corrected. So now the car is continuing to increase it's oversteer angle, but you're out of steering lock. What does your natural instinct tell you to do in that case?
Any ideas?

If you have to think about it, you've just run out of natural talent and are probably heading for the gravel trap or worse...

Yes so he has a daft signature which is part tongue in cheek, but we've seen this in other threads, he's had the p*ss taken out of him, been ridiculed, constantly goaded (admittedly at times set himself up for it and deserved what he received)....but it's all a little boring now. In this thread there was some good information and comparative detail to read, but as per usual it has deteriorated in a familiar way and you seem to make it your goal to be part of making this happen. If that's how you get your kicks from a Car Forum then fine, but it's just a little predictable now and totally off topic.

Jules.

Personally I have never been in this situation - when I go karting (just for fun) drifting of any sorts really hinders a good lap time - that said a 4 wheel drift does work if you can hold it.

With respect to your question - I would imagine that if you continue with throttle wide open you will spin out, if you back off totally you will get into an abrupt correction or more likely still spin out in the same way as applying throttle wide open.
I would personally back off the throttle a little until I could get the rear back in step - however having never actually had any instruction or ever tried it then I cannot say for sure. Clearly I play driving games but I try to go smooth & not drift.

The problem is that it isn't tongue in cheek and he insists on spreading utter rubbish as fact:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Check the threads in my profile where I have interacted with the young scamp - one mickey take in a spotted thread which wasn't malicious in any way, the thread above, this thread and a CSL thread where I was perfectly nice to him. I love the way I'm singled out - how many people in the above thread think he is talking rubbish again? Not just me is it.

Fair enough.

I accept that he spouts rubbish at times and even I have put him straight on a couple of occassions. My point is that on this thread with reference to the actual topic that should be being discussed his answers were ok, it wasn't until the topic deviates that the p*ss taking and daft comments start.

Maybe it's just me? But as much as I want to post about my experiences of my BMW I just don't ever feel like it would be valued in this particular forum (my posts are now limitered on here). So I just tend to read the forum instead but to be honest most of the threads are either anti-diesel (and yes I understand what the catalyst for this was), or not of interest to the current marque of BMW I have, it also doesn't come across as the friendliest sub forum on PH either. Apologies for singling you out but it's just that I have noticed you on a couple of DXB threads before.

Jules.
