Were these standard or options or add-ons for 2001 era 3-series cars?

Reason I ask is that I'm not sure if my 330Ci has them or not - don't get it until the middle of this coming week, and I'm tempted to update the halogens to xenons (£120 should do it, based on a thread on bmwworld) and if I didn't have the Angel Eyes I might do them at the same time.

On the other hand, I might wait a while until the credit card cools down - it's got a car sitting on it right now, after all :-)

E46 model did not have angel eyes at all.

Any E46 with angel eyes is an add-on.

Sorry having read the thread again, may as well address your other points.

Halogen to Xenon for £120, never going to happen. What you mean presumably is HID conversion kit, which can be had for half that price. However, a 2001 330Ci will upset a lot of people if you stick HID headlight conversion into it. No projector lenses etc etc.

With regards to angel eyes, http://www.ssdd-motorsport.com/show_prod.php?prod_...

Teddy at SSDD is brilliant, and his products are second to none in my experience.

I saw an e46 with retro angel eyes, it just looked EXTREMELY weird and just didn't look like it suited the car at all !

The huge advantage with the Halogen are they are road legal. Its impossible to E mark a HID bulb for Halogen figment so all the HID conversion bulbs are actually illegal to use on the road. Just get a good quality halogen bulb as they give off more than enough light. Only way you can legal fit HIDs is to swap everything and that is not cheap.
