Hello guys, I am looking for a few perspectives on my cars value. I've only had it about 8 months and bought if because of the various bargain barge threads on here. I absolutely love the car and have taken really good care of it (two oil changes in that time and 6K miles as well as air/micro filters, plugs, replacement badges, etc) but my situation is changing and I am doing a lot of towing (Out of work so can't use the hilux often). Have a look at the info and let me know what you think. I've autotradered 40 miles of my house and its pretty well placed imho.

BMW 740iL (4.4 V8 M62 engine)
V reg (pre 2001 road tax)
133,000 miles.
FSH (last service at 127,500 not including any work I've done)
Good condition inside and out.
All the Electrics including massaging front and rear adjustable seats.
11 months tax
4.5 months MOT.

What do you reckon???

I reckon 4.4 V8's are ideally suited for towing.

Probably but not 3 tons of logs across a muddy field!

If I could live with the MPG I'd love one, but as my E39 528 is averaging 22 mpg at the moment (80% short around town journeys, most of them under 5 miles) I can't really justify it. Lovely car though you have there.

What are the alloys from? They look like they have the wrong offset for a 7-series.

Excellent condition inside and out. (No scratches or dents and the carpets/leather is totally unmarked)

Air con just regassed.
11 months tax
12 months MOT

£3,600 sensible offers considered.

What do you reckon???

Looks like a nice car for someone - your offering a car that essentially needs little or nothing doing to it/spending on it for some time, is in very good condition, has a popular colour combination and you can demonstrate that it has been looked after mechanically.

If I was in the market to replace my E38 it is one that I would feel should be viewed.

It may be worth mentioning (if you have space) how good these BMW V8's are on fuel (for a large car) as my overall consumption suprised me.

As for price - it doesn't look expensive and you are open to offers so it shouldn't put any serious buyer off.

Good luck

Glad to see all the positive feedback. The main thing that attracted me to the car a year ago was the fact all the common failure points have been replaced only 30k miles ago so should have years before they would be a concern. In regard to the wheels they are the Evo 2's from the 330ci I believe. The previous owner put them on. I don't have the originals unfortunately. I think they look quite nice on the car though. In terms of the wrong offset, could you tell me a bit more? I've not experienced any issues during driving (vibration etc). The previous owner was a bit of an enthusiast too so could had any issues corrected.

Me too, if I could afford to run a V8 I'd be mighty tempted to sell the 528.

After some thought I've decided to put it up for sale. Advert went up this morning. Not generally interested in a px but I will say I am specifically looking at Nissan Patrols as a the replacement. Thanks guys.
