BMW One Series

It's here - what do you reckon to this then?!

BMW have published pictures of its new One Series today. The new car sets itself apart from other shopping cars thanks to rear wheel drive, 50:50 weight distribution and body styling that looks like Scooby Do's head...

The 116i opens the range with a 115bhp followed by a 150bhp 120i. Two diesels are included in the range including the 163bhp 120d. That's capable of sprinting to 60mph in 7.9 seconds - quicker than its petrol powered siblings.

Power is delivered to the road via a six-speed manual in 118d, 120d and 120i models, while the 116i has a five-speed manual gearbox. An optional six-speed automatic will also be offered on 120i and 120d models.

Prices for the all-new 1-Series will be announced later in the Spring.

Bangle 'flame' styling.

So called because the best thing you could do is to set fire to it.

Now someone say "It looks like a TVR"

The back's not too bad but, I reckon headlights are way too big.

Compared to all the other Euroboxes in the small car ranges it's very good but somehow I don't think it will be priced in the same range as them. It's a Merc A-Class rival only.

It doesn't look that small either, looks 3 Series Compact sized to me, might just be a small driver that does it though.

Overall I think it's design and look is better than the 7 and 5 series BangleMotorWreks

But would I have one?

No.

I reckon it looks alright, the front has a touch of Jag x-type about it and is not a good (b)angle but it sounds nippy and looks passable and will be built by BM so it will be bomb proof, If I was in the market for a town car / M25 car it would certainly get looked at

Few vents in the bonnet and it has something of the Sagaris about it too, what do you think Stig?

Seems to me Bangle is only there to challenge the capabilites of BMW-supplying metal press building companies ...
I suppose carriage-builders will spend nerve-wracking days working on damaged cars

Not of Bangle's BMWs - no.

Great cars dynamically, look like a melted welly aesthetically.

Bit of Alfa, bit of M Coupe, bit of Stilo? hmmm, bit of a dog.

I hope the convertible and hatches look better, how did they get to this from the gorgeous CS1? That had a more inspiring interior too.

Bet it drives well though.

I agree, looks just like an Alfa 147 from side-on and rear three quarter.

Wouldn't mind seeing what an M Sport version looked like though.

Oh God!

Not so much "dropped the ball" as "left the playing field"

That is hideous. Crucifixion is too good for Bangle.

My goodness - is there no limit to what Bangle will do to wreck BMW's cars and its chances? He must be an evil agent sent in by Audi to neutralise the competition. What a lash-up this latest effort is.

Do you work at head office in Bracknell? I've seen a few 6-series cabrios driving around recently. VERY distinctive hood!

Not sure what they would call that as they have already had an M1

Won't be rushing out to buy one. Looks like they drove it into a wall to style the nose!
