I'm looking for a new helmet to replace my Shoei Raid II, the helmet itself is fine but I do find it very noisy. Are there any makes or models that are significantly quieter than the norm.
Alternatively does anyone know of a web site featuring comparison of noise values, similar to those highly regarded 'Sharp' safety tests whistle

Schuberth are meant to be very quiet compared to most helmets. I've never had any other helmet, but I love mine.

My old Roof RO10 was very quite, I even went to the trouble of crash testing it for you and I can safely say it did it's job very well.

My current lid an Arai RX-7 GP is also very quiet, damn confortable too.

I bought a Schuberth R1 2 years ago as everyone said they were so quiet. Well, I was a bit disappointed, to be honest as I found it only slightly quieter than the Souomi it replaced. Although its clearly a quality lid, the front air vent fell off and the straps are awkward for some reason. Also visors are a crazy price. So, although I'll use it (with ear plugs) till it needs to be replaced, I'll not buy another.

Must admit I was surprised that my current Suomy SPEC1-R is quieter than the Shoei it replaced.

Schblerts are an odd shape, I tried one & couldn't close the front as it hit my chin. Plus the comedy price tag for a plastic box with polystrene in means I wouldn't get one.

Oh & HJC are sodding noisey.

Avoid any extravagant fins/ducts ,look for a snug fitting visor/visor aperture and a deep chin section...if thats the correct technical term!

Schuberth?

Avoid Arai like the plague. Fecking noisy as st helmets. My only complaint about them.

I have a Schuberth and several AGVs. I prefer the latter, though the former are fractionally more quiet when it comes to wind noise.

I have a (pretty cheap) AGV K-3, only my first helmet but I think it's pretty quiet at highway speeds. Also gets a lot of good reviews about the noise. I think it cost me about £130.

My brother bought a Shoei XR-1100 to replace his old Arai and recons it's much quieter.
Seems Schuberth are the outright winner here though - I will be buying a C3 at the NEC in November.

I got a C3 and it's a revelation compared to any other helmet I've owned.
