The japs really need to pull their fingers out in the larger cc segment. I suppose they're doing quite well in Asia and India to sustain a good cashflow but the EU offering is poor.
Glad for Trumpet and BMW
edit: missed the Blade first time round. Haven't they run a 0% scheme for quite a while to help them?

The public aren't swallowing the price hikes Yamaha put in place. The other Jap big 3 haven't hiked their prices so much so its made Yamaha look a bit silly. They may be good bikes, but if you can get something similar for 80% of the price, that does 99% of what you wanted in the first place, why spend the extra?.
Weird thing about that is the GSXR1000 is the cheapest of the jap superbikes by quite a margin and it's not even on the list?! I suppose it must be because it's quite an old model now whereas the others are all significantly updated this year or last year.I read teh article in MCN too, Suzuki are down 40& Vs lasy year, as well as the dull range they also rshut a load of shops so that isnt going to help.
The Blade sold nigh on double that the figure of the ZX10 and a few hundred more than the S1000R, rightly so it seems a good grunty motor and chassis is of more interest to road riders than fancy electronics and max torque and HP at 13,000RPM ...

Or because it's shyte?Anecdotal evidence here.
I was recently chatting to my friendly dealer, and they are franchised for Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Triumph, Ducati, KTM (possibly others as well).
I casually asked how things were going in sales, and they said they had sold plenty of Triumphs and KTM's and a few Ducatis, but even with the 0% deals on Jap bikes, they had not sold any recently. Seems that the European bikes are really giving the Jap bikes a hard time.
Interesting POV earlier in the thread re the amount of bikes sold in Asia - do you think they are that bothered by sales in UK/Europe?

And the fact that the gsxr1000 L10 is a newer model than the current blade. So that hasnt been updated. And yet it's still the best selling sports bike
I didn't think there have been any significant changes since K7 though. The new blade however had major changes around 2008?Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
