As someone who has spent a lot of time in or around mine sites and open pits, it's very counter-intuitive to see one being used in that manner, especially one that appears to have so little safety built into it in the first place, even before sticking and enduro race on it. Which is probably why I want to go to Erzberg so badly. When you're in a pit and bored (most of the time), dirt biking in and around one is one of the first things that comes to mind.

it's looks about twenty years old, it was likely far too old by the time this hit the internet. If that happened now, they would have crashed in to another driver doing the text-weaving lane shuffle.

The verges look neat and the lines are all clean and brightly painted. Around here, twenty years is about the last time I think they painted many of the lines, swept the road or last laid the road surface correctly.

Are they not both 98 R1s? That makes it 18yrs max. To be fair, in 98 when they were released everyone who owned one was racing every fking thing in sight. And who could blame them...
