Very clunky downchanges, or is it the rider?

I would guess it's the bike based on what i know of bmw's. Gear change like a tractor, in terms of action but also dureability.

With all deference due because of the history of the marque, seems like people are being unduly kind here. The bike seems as boring as the BMW version, with less refinement and more poser power. A KTM is a great off-road/on-road, and a Monster is a great fairing-less road bike. This one seems like a tweener. I haven't ridden it (yet), but have the others. Again, just an opinion.

Sounds to me like his throttle blip is not very well timed, and the back wheel is skipping.
But it could be the clunky BMW box as you say. After all it is just a re-badged BMW.
No soul.

Prefer the style of my big KTM 950 which doesn't have any small tank sacrifices. I can blast around and still get 170 miles to a tank, put a small screen on to get rid of wind blast and stick a box on the back for some weekends away. Still the one to beat in this category IMO.

No Way is this a re-badged BMW. Having ridden thr F800R/ F800GS back to back with both NUDA models they are different beasts. Sure some of the minor controls and mirrors etc are BMW. However all that remains of the 800 BMW engine is the basic outer castings. Husqvarna have produced 105bhp from the 85bhp "lump" in the BMW.
Ride one? You will feel what I have.

I'll admit to being a badge snob - as good as this looks, I'm not sure that I'd buy it over a KTM, Hypermotard etc.

Kudos to PH for the reviews of late - top stuff - please keep them coming thumbup

I was hoping this bike might have been closer to a 900cc version of our ER6n.

Doesn't read like it to me.

As a non bike person, was going to ask what was going on. Didn't sound or look too healthy. Almost looked like the wheel was skidding aronnd/slipping a few times.

Well I may be wrong, and you maycorrect me if I am, but I thought that the videos showed someone that is a pretty piss poor rider.
I don't know the track, but his lines seemed to be bad, and the ger changing rough enough to unsettle the bike.
Not to make to fine apoint on it, but that video makes the rider look like a novice.
