It will happen. Supersports are dead or close to it everywhere except the UK. No matter which way you look at it. Not just legislation but mainly age and market trends in places where it hasn't happened yet will ensure that people will go for easier to ride options before soon. Like a T-max, a GS, basic 600s, mid-range naked twins etc etc. BTW - who did you help?

Fleegle,I have never said you have the wrong bike in your garage. I just say that scooters are good at what they do, and the TMax is probably the best of their kind. I am not so naive to think that a scooter is the only bike I'll need or want, and neither am I so ignorant/naive to think that a geared bike is optimal for the kind of usage scooters are purpose designed to excel at.
You don't have to want a scooter, as much as I don't have to want an old Laverda or TRX...

Totally disagree. It's not lack of congestion - in fact our roads are only getting more congested, and demand for maxiscooters will only increase. Dug this up as seriously thinking about getting a T Max.
I sold my Street Triple due to so many theft attempts back in 2015 and ended up with a 2009 Vespa GT 300.
My first scooter after 37 years of riding bikes.
I bloody loved it. Twist and go, pretty quick and some weather protection. I was much quicker in traffic than 90% of the other bikes and scooters, using my ol dispatch rider senses, and I could chuck all my gear under the seat and in the top box and walk around looking normal and even chuck on some decent shoes.
I moved out to Surrey where it was not as much fun on the commute. Fine on the A roads but scary at night on the dark B roads where the tiny wheels couldn't deal with potholes and the headlight was useless.
I started getting maxi scooter envy whenever a T Max blasted past.
My Vespa went walkies whilst I was moving back to London and now, 4 months later, I need a powered 2 wheeler back in my life and I'm sure the T Max is it.
Thing is, their price!! Even secondhand they command big money.
Earlier in this thread it's mentioned that the £8k 2011 model will be around £4k after 3 years.
Seems they are around £3k to £4k even now, 7 years later.
So still worth it? If I can have the ease and fun of my Vespa coupled with more stability at motorway speeds, bigger wheels and decent lights, should I buy one?
Anyone that owns one, do tell me what you think. Ta.
