RE: PH2 ridden: 2012 Triumph Speed Triple R
Discussion
Lovely, lovely, lovely!
Though my std Speedy is bloody excellent on track (with a proper set up courtesy of Darren at MCT) so the only reason to change for me would be the bragging rights of having the "R" model......not worth another £2500 over the std bike (let alone who much extra I'd have to come up with on top of my 2011 model).
Although I might just find out which dealer is running one as a demo just to actually feel the difference for myself

If it's anything like my 675 it'll be either painted on the wheel, or varnished over. It's a nice way of doing it, but obviously makes it tricky to remove!
Gixeh – did having your suspension set up on your 2011 make a big difference? Thing is – I use my bike for everything (touring, pillion riding, but mostly general hooning and commuting), so I'm not sure there's one thing they'd be able to tailor the bike for, if you see what I mean?

Having the suspension set up is THE biggest single improvement you can make to any bike, Darren has done my bikes for years and there's not one that hasn't benefitted from it. Like you, I tend to use my bikes for everything and it's always the first thing I do to them. Give Darren a ring (link in my first post) and see what he suggests, you won't be disapointed!Gix
I fitted PVM wheels and Ohlins to my 955i Daytona a couple of years back, does this mean I have a 955i Daytona R?
Joking apart why don't Triumph put a full fairing, clip ons and a longer tail piece onto this bike to make a 1050 Daytona? It wouldn't be as fast as the Japenese race replicas granted but it would be a great road bike.
It would fill the gap between the nutter 675 and the sensible Sprint ST quite nicely.

I love it, next bike for me I think! I need something more upright than my GSX-R750 K6 (dodgy neck be damned!) and this will do my mix of fast road riding/touring and trackdays perfectly!

Might be a good/excellent/brilliant bike but I just can't stand those lights. They just dont flow with the bike and look too much like an afterthought. Wasn't that keen on the twin round ones, but these would be enough to stop me spending my money...........
I think they look great with the colourcoded flyscreen fitted, but a bit odd without it...scorcher said:
...so I could approach from the rear.;)
That's the way the missus likes it, as it happens...sprinter1050 said:
Does it really HAVE To come with red rim tape ?
The red stripe is painted on the rims, not tape!Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
