Has anyone done such a thing? Mrs Paolows mum (south coast) has an old Honda that she wants to give to a relation (Manchesterish) and given its not worth anything really, the professional courier companies are a bit expensive for what it is.
Has anyone had any experience with anything similar? Its 180cm long by 65 wide and 115 high (screen removed).
I did consider palletline et al though would really appreciate suggestions from anyone who has tried it before!

Dealers usually charge £1 a mile for transport - so you can hire a van, or catch a train/lift and get it serviced and ride it back.
In fact I'd get a bike shop to collect and service, then pick it up from there when done and ride it back.

Get on shiply

I bought a mgb 60miles away and the trailer I was meant to borrow suddenly became in avaliable.

Posted on shiply what it was, where from and where to.

Then people bid for the job. Started at £130 then down to £114 in the same day. Over the next 2 days went down to £69 + £11 shiply fee.

Was picked up and dropped of the next day. Paid deposit online and cash on delivery. Easy.

Not shipping per se, but I've transported lots of scooters in various cars easily over the years.

If you remove the wing mirrors, I've transported them in an E-class estate, Xsara Picasso and a Nissan Xtrail. I even sold a C90 that was picked up for a 300 mile journey north in an old Toyota Rav 4!! That was tight though. Any people carrier, good size 4x4 or Mondeo sized estate car should fit a scooter in with no issues.

Here's the most recent...

It may well start - though it hasnt been for 2 years so it may well not go without arguing! It does roll/can be pushed though. Sadly we don't posess a car bigger than an octavia - and it won't fit in that. I just had a squiz on Shiply and that seems good? Ill get a pic of it and put it up - I can only try and see what the state of play is......
Bit worried it might end up quite pricey still - I might try courierexchange and see there as well...

I can second this, I've used shiply a number of times when buying scooters, definitely worth a try.
