But according to Alex Briggs, the quotes saying Rossi will run Ducati & Hayden's settings are BS. He will be nowhere again, even in the predicted rain My predictions... Stoner FTW, everyone write him off last weekend on here, he will fly, closely tailed by Jorge Lorenzo. Cal will get 3rd after an almighty scrap with pedrosa.

As a fan of Vale' it would be my wish for him to be up there mixing it. However as long as we continue to have races where 4 or 5 riders are mixing it up at the front all the way then it matters a little less that one of them is not #46.
The secondary battles and the underdog CRT's getting in the ribs of the 2nd string prototypes is also fun to watch. Did anyone see just how fast one of the Ducatis flew past the Aprillia of De Puniet but come the twisties Randy was back in there fighting.
Msde good viewing all the way down the field. Lets have some more.

I dunno what spies is up to, I think he will be pretty much the same place he was last time.
I would say stoner and lorenzo in top 2 positions with possibly cal battling it out with pedrosa although im not sure if he has enough to pass him just yet. He needs to focus on keeping his head clear, try not to make silly mistakes and keep getting the points.
I think hayden will qualify pretty high but as the race goes on lose positions. Valentino I think he will be about the same or a few places higher.

I reckon Lorenzo will take the win, Pedrosa not too far behind after they both passed Stoner in the first 5 laps of the race. Rossi will shock everyone with a distant 4th after dicing with Hayden all race long, then Dovi, Crutchlow, Bradl with RdP getting into the top 10, again Spies well off the pace mixing it with the Edwards + other CRT bikes. Hopefully Ellison will get a decent finish. But I know nowt really.

The last of the Stoner bogey tracks. Would be nice to see him tick that one off the list but it's going to be hard work as the top three all have strong form here.

I think I heard that Spies had adjusted his elbow-down style to compensate for the 800s and had to do a lot of work to adapt to the bike, this paid off last year as he was getting up there and had a win last year. With the change of bike, he's probably got some work to do in order to adapt to the 1000, it may even be worth him going back to how he used to ride in World Superbikes, it certainly seems to be paying off for Cal at the moment.

But surely the 1000s would suit him better, he has AMA Title and a WSB title in his rookie year, he should be dusting Cal up as he didn't perform as well in WSB.

He should, but I don't think Cal changed his style quite so much as Ben did, Cal is still riding in much the same was as he was in World Superbikes. Ben went through quite a bit of work in his first year to change his style to riding the 800, which Rossi likened to riding a 250. I just think he might be struggling to get back to how he was and once he adapts to the different style needed he'll be running up at the front again.

Could even be the pressure of a full factory ride as well on top of that.

From what I've read the biggest pointer riding change of style is the braking because of the Bridgestone fort tres being so phenomenally good but also stiff as hell, Cal was actually carrying too much speed through the corner. He needed to brake harder to get the fro t tyre to work and then knock back the corner speed and stand he bike up,faster and fire it back out. I think he has had to change quite a lot and I agree Spies seemed to have lost his way, on a bike that should suit his style . . .

must admit that after the prediction of Rossis performance this year coming true, we hadn't expected to stick with i, never mind enjoy it! have to say it's been pretty good so far, really rooting for Cal in what seems to be one of the best scraps early on that we've seen for years, hope it continues! no predictions, not bothered, as long as there's good close racing, swapping of positions & people giving it their all, go Cal!

I think Cal's issue will be how much he wears the tyres out vs the front runners. I think he will have the initial pace and he's certainly not afraid to mix it with the others, but he will struggle at the death compared to the other much lighter guys. Great to see him up there!
