Nigel Worc's said: I often ride with lights off .....especially when its daylight, what's the issue ? "especially"? That would infer you do it at night as well! Now that's just silly. How are other bikers supposed to see you to nod!

ETAS if something as innocuous as a nod dislocates your spine, shouldn't you be riding a Steven Hawking-style chair rather than a bike? Ignore the DAS n00b troll, mate. meh. guess so.

Surrey and Berks have plenty of nodders but Londoners?! Nope! You're clearly more popular than me. Went to Lumies the other week and only30% return for my nods. Not impressed

Up here there's only really two types who never nod back - - the wannabe police, easily identifiable by the bare epaulette hooks, sillitoe tartan helmet stickers, and tatty half marked up in yellow RT/Pan Euro, - the wannabe ghost rider types (I think it's a mortal sin for them to show any skin whatsoever - black open faced helmet, black buff up to the eyes, black smoked goggles, black leathers, black Harley... yet probably all well heeled suits during the week ) Everyone else is either friendly or concentrating. Wave or not, no big deal.

I've ridden all over Spain, and over there, it's much cooler / easier. As you're riding on the 'right' side of the road, you can take your left hand off the bar to acknowledge / wave at oncoming bikers. The Spanish lift their hand off the bar, and give you a 'forward 2 fingered' salute type thing, like the 'V' for victory. Beats our awkward looking nod thing hands down!

Yeah, but they're screwed when it comes to a bit sword/joust work though eh....

Only time I 'nod' is when I'm abroad, and then it is usually a kick out of the left leg.

I got 'The Nod' yesterday! first in a while.
Driving out of Perth Tesco in the gay car with the roof down. Nod was pleasantly exchanged by driver of grey Fiat Barchetta.
Must say, what a great looking car it is.

I nod to other bikers, and usually get nods.
Quite often these nods turn to looks of horror as they realise they've nodded to a block on a scooter. To be fair it does look like a bike from the front. Little do they know if has 171ccs of fury though...

These threads always remind me of this classic Somone once said: "I cant understand why everyone who rides bikes doesnt wave to each other, after all we are one big happy family with a common interest and bond. I wave at every rider I see to do my bit....
Well except of Harley riders of course, I never wave at Harley riders. Sitting back with their "Hardley", no real idea about motorcycling, just trying to impress women. They never wave at us so why should I bother, no I NEVER wave at harley riders, but I wave at all other riders....
Well exept BWM riders of course. Bloody Waste of Money if you ask me. Riding along with their BMW helmet/jacket/shirt/pants/jocks. Its not a bike its simply a fashion accessory to them. They just ride along with their nose in the air. No I NEVER wave at BMW riders, but I wave at all other riders....
Well except Ducati riders of course. Bloody Italian Stallions, are they trying to compensate for something??? Lets face it why bother waving, they spend half their life in the back of utes. No I NEVER wave at Ducati riders, but I wave at all other riders....
Well except Kawasaki riders of course. Bloody Team Green, who the hell do they think they are, Kermit. Might as well be riding along in their green skin tight leather. No I NEVER wave at Kawasaki riders, but I wave at all other riders....
Well except Honda riders of course. CBR this and CBR that. Did you ever notice Honda riders alwasy wear the loudest colour leathers? They are too busy trying ti get the 6 inch knee scrapers to touch the ground to look at waving. No they are all Mick Doohan pretenders. No I NEVER wave at Honda riders, but I wave at all other riders....
Well except Suzuki riders of course. Bloody team "Telifonica". They are too busy laying on the tank trying to reach the bars to wave to anyone. Or if they have a TL they are feverishly tryng to control tank slap. No I NEVER wave at Suzuki riders, but I wave at all other riders....
Well except Yamaha riders of course. Does Yamaha make any other bikes besdies R1 & R6's? And whats with this blue and white color shceme, did Bunnings have a runout on blue paint? These guys are too busy reading bike mag's to see if any other maker has bought out a bike that is 0.00023 seconds quicker around Phillip Island. Brand Loyalty? Please, these riders will jump ship quicker than Afghan Refugee with a McDonalds voucher.
Yerp, I love the feeling of being part of the Motorcycling community. One big happy family. If only other motorcyclists were as understanding as me.......
" Well I thought it was funny when I read it...."
