I doubt he'd be any quicker even if he was well versed with the Panigale. The R1 he is on seemed well sorted, only bike I would say may be a better bet is the 2011 on - Kwak or BMW S1000rr.
A Panigale is a lovely bit of kit dont get me wrong, just perhaps not the ideal bike for that run hence the reason you dont see them at the TT etc.
Just noticed this whilst catching up, you might want to check out the TT thread and a few pics that one of our own has taken:A Panigale is a lovely bit of kit dont get me wrong, just perhaps not the ideal bike for that run hence the reason you dont see them at the TT etc.
There are a few Panigales running at the TT.

Really? Maybe it's just that they were only released in April of this year - hardly enough time to set them up and develop a rider on them at this years TT... the Panigale has only been on the market just over 1 month!spareparts said:

If they were ideal, all the top riders would be using them wouldn't they? Despite lack of set up time. I don't recall many 1098Rs being successful there before the Panigale was brought out either?
You could argue that anything other than a Fireblade isn't going to be successful at the TT these days.Maruchino said:

I think tank range is bit of an issue on the 1x98. Not sure it could actually manage 2 full laps of the TT on a tank... The Blade already struggles...Thou said:

Would they? I'd have thought that all of the _top_ riders' bikes would be determined by sponsorship arrangements...? Those self funding riders who aren't attached to a team and are competitive and who can happily buy a new bike every year would be the ones who could pick and choose from year to year. Can anyone tell me if there is anyone to whom that might apply out there??? DiscoColin said:

Michael Dunlop. And no, he doesn't use a Panigale. Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
