Rode into London today and had parked up to pick up some lunch for later.
Got a phone call about 5 mins after I parked up from the tracking company to say the bike was on the move!! Ran downstairs to check and yep its been stolen!
Quick phone call to 999 to report it and the chase was on!
3 hours later its location is apparently static and confirmed to within a few garages although the battery has been disconnected! :-( Police turn up but the garages are locked and they cant hear any noise and they cannot open them to search .............. so Im currently in catch 22, tracker company are confident they know where it is and the police cant go in to get it.
Tracking company have been fantastic throughout ....... police not so (although a few were)!
Unfortunately this is the second bike Ive had knicked in less than 8 months ......... both brand new, both stolen in London :-(. Currently working myself up to ring the insurance company, I know its going to be difficult (last one was a complete drama)!
Im currently thinking I just wont replace it and will hang my leathers up Im clearly cursed! :-(
Many Thanks,
Adam

What a b h and the tracker seems to be doing it's job. my tip would be to pop over to the garage with a huge hummer and get it yourself. if the BIB won't help.

Hang on that's ridiculous...you know where the bike is but no one is allowed to get to it!? Knee-jerk was get a few mates who know their and break in the garage but then I remembered this is not The Lounge.Could you plant yourself at the garage location and wait to see if it gets taken somewhere? Are the police patrolling the area? Have they chaecked there isn't a name they recognised associated with vehicle theft who could own the garage? edit: RemaL said: What a b h and the tracker seems to be doing it's job. my tip would be to pop over to the garage with a huge hummer and get it yourself. if the BIB won't help.

police are s shocker they know the location of stolen property but wont pull their finger out and have it returned or set up a sting to arrest the thiefs? fwiw, get an Almax chain and Squire lock, they weigh a ton but you'll get to keep your bike

I would buy a load of food, and sit in my car just down the road and wait. When you see someone go into one of the garages it could be, wait for it and if they're wheeling out your bike. Shoot without hesitation.

Are the police at least staking it out so that once someone comes by to open it up they can go in? Surely they have enough evidence to force the doors? Strange one.
Failing that just rent a wrecking ball crane and bring the whole place down..

Bastids. Personally, if the police/tracking company tell you where it is, I would be racing out to buy one of the below. Run it under the garage doors and to find which one your bike is in. When you spot it, break in and take it back or call the police and say you saw it in there when someone opened the garage. http://www.espow.com/product_info.php?products_id=...

The crimms will probably leave it in that garage for a few weeks\months to let it cool off. They probably won't come back anytime soon. Could be a long stakeout.

Exactly what I was going to say. And if their little spotter scrotes are earning their blow, the crims will now know that Plod have been snooping and they won't touch it. I'm not coming over all Lounge but I think you're going to have to get proactive here - if you want it back. Failing that, go into the local nick and kick up merry hell until someone tells you WHY they won't investigate a known stolen item in a known location. That doesn't seem phenomenally ridiculous to a civilian like me. What part of London is it in? PH Recovery Posse??

Oh and another thing - there's an outside chance your bike is sitting in that garage having a chat with Mario's Triumph.....

Seems a bit strange the police wont knock on doors asking who owns what garage and asking if they can see inside to check for stolen property. Hope you get it sorted OP.

Wow, if you don't mind me asking what tracker do you use, if I get an expensive bike in the future I'll be sure to have one fitted. It sounds very good, even though you've had no luck. It is a difficult situation for sure. Be as detective as possible to Figure out the most likely garage it's in, motorbike sidestand marks on the floor outside recently used lock etc.
Get some shady friends and brake in if your confident, that camera thing looked good aswell.
