Alarm clocks set! Every f  king time I wanted to watch it, I sat in front of the telly on sunday, waiting for it to begin, only to find out that it was already done and dusted on saturday. Oh the joy of religion and sporting events...  s

Jup... Assen lies in the east of Holland, or reserve Germany as we call it. The only good thing they have is Assen. The rest is assbackwards :P

Why is it held on a saturday when the superbikes race on a sunday ? Anyone know ?
Anyway were going over for it,ferry from Hull wednesday evening

It's probably tradition based on religious (Christian) beliefs, i.e. sunday is a rest day. That part of Holland is still a bit religious. The TT is now in it's 82nd year. WSBK hasn't got that lifespan and probably had less hassle with religion when starting.

Not bad thanks Fleegle, the weather is awful but at least I get to ride my bikes more often and I can watch the racing on TV. I even rode into work yesterday!
